I bought this rig thinking this would be my last cruiser, but my wife has got the baby craze and since this is my daily driver I really need something I can easily get parts for and requires a little less tinkering; I could also use some extra cash. Making your living on the water is a little slow in the winter! So here is the history:
I am a landcruiser junky and have always wanted a diesel, so I bought it from a guy in VA who had done the conversion and was going to use it as my daily driver, which I have with lots of work. The guy I bought it from paid $6700 for the brand new tranny and the motor, uninstalled. He did most of the conversion and did the wheel bearings, birfields, clutch, and the rear main seal. When I bought the truck it did not run great and had no interior. These are the particulars and a list of stuff I have done:

89 62
2H diesel
5 speed h55f
ARB rear locker
Detroit front locker
ARB W/ Warn Winch (8500lb I believe)
OME Heavy
No sway bars
33" General Grabber Mud Terrains
Conferr Roof Rack
Battery Isolator (installed but not hooked up yet)
GM 1 wire alternator
Dual Batteries
12V System
Cold A/C with new lines

1. Replaced Glow Plugs and glow plug rail with copper
2. Removed old fuel filters and added a $100 Racor
3. Replaced the Diaphragm in the injection pump
4. Replaced all rubber hoses in fuel system
5. Replaced master cylinder and slave cylinder for clutch
6. Added stereo which plays and charges ipod
7. Replaced all belts and fixed charging problems
8. Rebuilt starter
9. Added gray carpet and seat covers
10. Added diesel tach from Tiny Tach.
11. Added aftermarket temp sensor
12. Tightened up wiring
13. Replaced aftermarket wheels with originals
14. Replaced Heater hoses
15. Replaced gasket on intake
16. Adjusted Valves
17. Replaced Valve cover gasket.
18. Replaced Thermostat
19. Exhaust reworked
20. Added brake vacuum canister
21. Hood shocks
22. Had new oil lines to the vacuum pump on the alternator made
23. Replaced high pressure power steering line

I have been driving this rig every day and had it painted and all the body work done by a professional. He cut out the rust and rebuilt/fixed all the problems -----no bondo! I did change the color so what is left to finish is this:

1. Paint door jams with duraback, black, which I will include

2. Fix the last oil leaks, one which I will do, coming from the centrifugal oil filter. The other is one I am still tracking down which is, from what I believe should just be a gasket up front.

3. Get a few of the small dash plugs from a donor FJ. Switch covers.

4. I get 19 to 20 mpg but it does smoke a bit a start up (cold only) and may need the injectors serviced.

I have a ton of extra pieces and parts including glow plugs, gaskets, and filters etc that will go with the truck. With all that being said I would be interested in a trade for a 60 that is in good shape and some cash; a 5 speed and a lift would be a plus. I will start the sale at $10K OBO. Please let me know if you need any further info. Truck is located in Charleston SC. I will get some pictures of the inside when the rain quits.
