Tare, unfortunately it's not the Diesel. It's the v10. Several advantages and disadvantages to that but we'll still be perfectly happy. I have attached photos of the new beast.

Dan, it would be awesome if it went to a local. If i can help you work it out let me know. Im willing to work with you buddy.

you have a thing for dual rear swingout's don't ya?

are you hooked up for leases or payments on your rig for sale?

Payments not accepted on the cruiser unless you give me $10,000 now and $5,000 in a week :D And leave your first born here in the mean time.

Would accept $10,000 cash and $5,400 in paypal. Whatever it takes to make it work for you.

No lease LOL

The dual spare thing is funny... didn't even know it had dual spares..... so its meant to be!!!

Parked next to an SMB this morning during my morning surf session. It had front and rear Aluminess bumpers and they looked pretty burly.

That's a nice rig - I think you made a good choice. You will enjoy being able to sleep inside your rig and not deal with the elements when its nasty outside. Alot more winter campiong options as well. You also will be able to spend more time exploring and less time setting up and breaking down camp.

I always wondered how you guys did it when the wives were along. I just could never see my wife climbing down one of those roof top tent ladders in the middle of the night to wiz. Bettter yet, my self after having one too many beverages. Also see that it is set up for towing- Hook that jeep up and you are set for just about anything.

Also see some FD stickers on the back windows - Firemen typically take good care of there equipment- another plus

Yeah the awning and ladder will be ordered. Other than that... drop in a HAM radio and its all done already.

Dave drinking your own coolaid now hua? Do not think for a minute any of us believe this statement. Not sure if this was your sales pitch to Yosh but this crap won't fly here.:flipoff2:

Seriously, nice score dude, you will be stoked with that thing.

I do really like those, but they're such a Ford.

Dave, after lurking on this site for some time this is my first post. I suspect you will be quite happy with your decision. I had a smaller sportsmobile and a FJ40 at the same time for many years, thought I could Never part with the 40, but I got to dread the long distance drive time and camping in the elements in the off seasons, so the sportsmobile more frequently went on the trip. As I've gotten older both are gone in favor of a FZJ80 and motel rooms, nothing stays the same. I enjoy reading your posts and after all these things are just tools to good times with friends in good places. :flipoff2:

That is a sweet looking rig Dave.

I have always wanted a Van That Can like that but I couldn't live without the Cruiser for rock crawling. WhenI am rich and can afford 5 vehicles one of those will be on the list. :grinpimp:

Another note, I was raised a Chevy guy. It was sin to own a Ford. After driving Ford E350 diesel ambulances for 15 years with one Dodge and one Chevy ambulance for comparison, there is no comparison. I had one Ford with 446K miles on it and most at 250k miles that were 10 times better than the Chevy with 88K in every way.

About four years ago my wife and I were looking for a full size SUV and were deciding between a Tahoe and an Expedition. We test drove one used version of each, both the same year, color, and approx mileage 75k on the same lot. What are the chances? Anyway the Ford was so much better put together and didn't show it's age much at all but the Tahoe was a POS. Since then if I can't buy her a Toyota, LC and Sequoia are too much $, I would take a Ford as second choice.

The exceptions noted in other posts being the 6.0 diesel and the V10 with the 6.0 being worse than the V10.

Dave,

You better stick around! That rig will be perfect for you and some lucky bastid is stealing your rig from you for that $. I hope the Ford treats you as well as the Yota. Your drove a Jeep before so I guess you can handle the risks associated with a Ford  You still have the duty of moderating this place you know:p

SOLD!!!!!

????

Details please? Inquiring minds want to know.

And just curious: why did you decide on the gasser over the deisel? Was it the restiction on running low sulfer diesel, and using anything other that (e.g. filling up in mexico) will void your warranty? Seems like the diesel would much better mileage and be much more drivable.

No criticism, just curiosity.

Congrats Dave! Let us know when you want to break in the SMB, even on just a day jaunt up to Santiago Peak!
