TRADE? '88 Range Rover for FJ60

I have a 1988 Range Rover I'm going to sell but would like to see if anyone would like to trade an '88 RR for a '82 and up Fj60?

My Range Rover has 143,000 miles on it and is in great running condition. A/C blows cold and I just replaced the water pump. The color is silver with grey leather interior. Overall the RR is in pretty good condition for the year model. It does have a few dents and scratches, one fairly big dent on the passenger rear door that someone in a parking lot decided to rub against it and not leave any insurance info. Everything is stock with the exception of stereo and tires. It has a AM/FM/CD player with a bazooka tube and BFG All-Terrian tires that have 90% tire tread left. Power seats do not work either. Other than that it has power windows, sunroof and mirrors.

Pictures will be available soon. I wanted to see if there was any interest in a trade before actually selling the vehicle. I'm located in Houston,TX.

Best Regards,
Jimmy Hickok

Hmmmmmm....

Ya sure you don't want to hold on to that Rover.?.. they make a great vehicle to tow around the woods & out of the trail...

... sorry... couldn't resist... have friends with some of those...

My RR would be great to modify and have as a off-road/tote my dogs around in, but would like to have an fj60 to do the same with more room inside. Grant it, the RR is easier to lift, it does have an automatic tranny...fuel injected....full time 4wd....huh...;)

Wanted: Fj62

Thought I'd just throw this out here in case anyone is interested in selling soon. I'm looking for a good condition FJ62 in or around the Chicago area. Preferably with little to no rust. (I know... good luck right?). Mileage is unimportant.

looking for 1st cruiser

Just starting to look for my first cruiser.

Thinking about a 55 or 40, not sure.

Live in St. Louis.

Welcome Brad. This is a great place to start finding out about this hobby. I would make sure you know what you want before you buy. It's too easy to settle if you don't have your mind made up. I recommend posting in chat and let us know what you want to do, then the 40 and 55 (piggie) owners can chime in. Some have both and can give you a more objective discussion.

Lots of posts on what to look for when shopping in years, options, etc. Just use the search function above.

Oh yeah, and if a guy named Junk tells you you did something with your mother, thats just his way of welcoming you.

I appreciate the advise.

I am an avid flyfisherman, and spend a good deal of time in the missouri/arkansas ozark mountains. I am not really looking to do any rock climbing or hardcore offroading, but am looking more for a dependable four wheel drive vehicle to restore for camping/fishing adventures.

When I lived in Colorado, I was exposed to the 40 series LandCruisers and seem to like them beter than Jeeps. I own an 02 Tundra for an everyday vehicle and am looking for something that is more of a toy than a must have.

In any case, I would be glad to hear anyone's recommendations.

Start a new thread in Chat Brad! Or the forum police will pounce, plu you will get a lot more visibility and information!

My dig , camera is out of state right now , on vacation with the wife as soon as it gets back Friday , i would be more than happy to send you both some photos , the cruiser runs , but i think it needs a carb rebuild real bad , i dont think it would be ok to drive from Washington to Ca. , might be cheaper to put it on a car hauler , my email is aemauto@aol.com
Thanks

Chat's not a bad idea, or you could just come back to Colorado and buy my 40. I'd take $2700 for it. Hell, I'll even let you sleep here when you come to pick it up! :D
