Going . . .

Not gone yet, but going . . .

Do you know whether the turbo is working or been changed under the lifetime warranty?
And how's the tranny? does it slip, leak, or make any funny noises?
Power steering working quietly?
And now........(drum roll, please).....does the A/C put out nice ice cold when in max air and fan high?

88 FJ62 w/185K - $7,000 - In NC

Hate to do this, but the time has come to sell my favorite LC. Work, family, etc, have caught up with me and I just do not have enough spare time to spend on this and my 93 LC.

Details:
Purchased truck in July 2003 w/168K from a guy who worked as a parts manager at a Nissan dealership. He purchased the truck from the original owner in mid-2002 after it was traded-in. According to the 2nd owner, he only drove the truck sparingly around town, putting maybe 3K on it the entire year he had it. He did indicate he talked to the original owner, and apparently the truck was driven on long hunting/fishing trips. Truck was in decent shape when I got it, but clearly needed LOTS of TLC. Below is a list of all the major things I've had done:

168.3K Tune-up (Plugs, etc)
Added K&N Filter
Replaced Front Brake Pads (They were the original!)
Repacked and Surfaced Rotors
Rebuilt Rear Brakes (To orig specs)
168.8K Rebuilt Transfer Case
Changed Front and Rear Diff Fluid
172.3K Replaced Exhaust
New Free Flow Cats
New FlowMaster Muffler
New 2.25” Exhaust Pipe From Cats to Rear
173.0K New Old Man Emu (OME) Shocks and
Steering Stabilizer
174.5K New Starter
175.0K New Hella Halogens
New Battery
175.2K New Tires – Michelin LTX 30x9.50’s
175.6K New Radiator (From Specter)
Changed Rear Diff w/ Synthetic
182.0K New Fuel Pressure Regulator
New Tie Rod Ends (Man-A-Fre)

•I have receipts for all service
•Almost all service completed by Toyota w/ OEM parts
•Oil changed approx every 4K
•Transmission fluid changed twice over last two years

From what I can tell, the truck was driven off-road minimally. There are only a few scratches underneath, and it came with 30x9.50's. Apparently, there had been SERIOUS leaks in this thing as the whole underbelly was coated in diff fluid (from the t-case, later rebuit) and oil. The 2nd owner indicated he had the head gasket and rear main seals replaced. I asked for proof, but given his job, he said he did not get an invoice. The guys at Toyota believe that both these seals have been changed, but I unfortunately can't guarantee you 100% that they were (But clearly, there is no more major leakage). The birfs appear to have been repacked some time ago, and do not have any clicking, etc, when in turns.

I've used this truck as a DD, with minimal off-roading. I have taken it on multiple long trips (600+ miles) and its performed well - just slow. The AC blows very cold, and it does have a CD player.

What it Needs:
Only the driver side window works as the control box is shot. I believe the part is $275 retail at Toyota.
The paint is average for a 17 year-old vehicle. In the next 2 - 4 years, you will probably want to get a paint job.
I still get a few drops of oil from the rear main. Nothing major, but I usually wipe down the t-case skid plate once every two months so nothing builds up and hits the driveway.
There is one spot of rust of the left side rear frame rail, at the tailgate.

Price
Asking $7,000. I have over $11,000 in the truck, not including time.
I plan to advertise it locally within the next week or so for more, but wanted to get it out here first as I really appreciate all the advice and help over the past two years.

If you're interested, just drop me a line at kingad@adelphia.net

Thanks

Wanted: Built FZJ80 - Preferably Colorado

I am looking for a built FJZ80, preferably in Colorado. I have four kids....need a rig that can take all of us through hardcore (not extreme) trails in CO and Moab. Lockers are a must (don't have to be factory, though). On the picky side...I'm looking for white....

My ideal build is a 4" - 6" lift with 35" tires (prefer trxus or MTR) with a Slee suspension. I would end up replacing OME, but would consider it. I'm also interested in stockers...but with 4 kids (hence the need for the 80) I'd rather avoid the basic suspension work.

I will be ready to buy on Oct 1st after closing on a new house. If you are thinking of selling, please PM or email at nay@investoraccessgroup.com.

Thanks!

Nay

There's a nice one in CA that Terrax is selling (he's on this board). A quick 2-day drive and you'll have it home. :D

Going - gone (almost).

I've got three people appealing to the lords of finance. It should be gone Monday. If not, I'll be sending out more pics to those who have requested them.

Thanks!

:)

86 FJ 60 in Arizona

For sale is a 86 FJ 60. The mileage is 192891. Bought the vehicle in 2004. Motor was rebuilt @ 192561 miles (04-23-04) but ended up possibly throwing a rod. It sure has the sound of it. Other items done to this FJ60 is as follows:
SOR rebuilt smog pump with both hoses

Rancho RS5000 shocks (brand new)
Toyota EGR Valve assy, part # 25870-61011, 25620-61071
JT Outfitters Tie Rod end kit (installed) & Knucle rebuild kit (not installed) Cruiser parts used thermostat housing
BAP new clutch package, put in at time of motor rebuild
NGK plugwire set, distributor cap, PCV Valve, Fuel filter, NGK Spark plugs
Clutch master cylinder/ slave cylinder
all new heater hoses/ vacuum lines
new rear hatch shocks
new thermostat
new water pump & fanclutch
new metal water pipes for rear seat heater
new battery, stainless steel battery tray
Toyota power steering pump and new hoses
BF Goodgrich 31x10.5 All terrains @ 192719 miles on stock FJ60 rims
Brembo front disk brake rotors (not installed, still in boxes)
Tradesman Roof Rack, Ladder and brackets to hold highlift
Toyota Dealership just replaced the gas tank under the recall notice.
All glass is intact, dash is cracked, drivers seat is worn and so is the carpeting. Vehicle appears to have been in the southwest all of its life. It also appears to have been in an accident at one time as some paint is coming off the right rear passenger door revealing the color red. If not for the red paint showing you could not tell that their had been sheet metal replaced. The vehicle has the Toyota tool kit. All sheet metal in in good condition. The headliner is in great shape, just a little dirty. I am asking $2500 for the vehicle. It did start up and run but I can not find the ignition key at this time. You can reach me at hadaz@msn.com
The vehicle also comes with the Toyota 1981-1987 engine repair manual and the 1981 2F Emission Control manual. More pictures are available if needed.
