I think it should say on one of the corners of the windshield. Just curious who is making them these days and if I should bother buying from the dealership directly.

Oh that's interesting, I was expecting something like Pilkington or AGC.Fuyao is very common, PPG is out of business from what our glass guy told me. I too was considering getting a factory Toyota glass once I get done with the Hundy.
I think Pilkington is still around never seen an AGC, must be a cost issue. Our glass guy is always giving us a good deal since we (my work) have a fleet.Oh that's interesting, I was expecting something like Pilkington or AGC.

Thanks for the extra data point! My current glass is Pilkington, but I'm pretty sure I remember the person who sold me the vehicle saying it was a replacement.my guy told me Pilkington sold out to Truval a few years ago, the last windshield he did for me on my 62 was from Truval
Same thing here, my guy does all the glass at work and gives us good deals
Is the bug for the glass stamped with Toyota or Lexus?Had mine done a year ago with "all OEM parts" and the windshield was Fuyao
I think, like Rhetoric mentioned, the dealer sourced windshields typically have both Lexus/Toyota branding and the glass manufacturer. Why is Toyota supplying non-Toyota brands?
"Apologies for the delay. I searched high and low; Pilkington is not manufacturing that windshield anymore."
I "believe" glass for the LX470 has acoustic glass- something like a sound absorbing membrane in between the laminated glass panes.I think, like Rhetoric mentioned, the dealer sourced windshields typically have both Lexus/Toyota branding and the glass manufacturer.
Even within the 2004 year (and ignoring the Night Vision windshields), the LX 470 and Land Cruiser windows have different part numbers. That's not too surprising, but what is interesting is that autoparts.toyota.com carries BOTH the LX 470 and Land Cruiser parts:

I'm not sure what difference there is, if any. Lexus one is ~$30 more expensive though. The only difference I can find is the part outlined in red is only present on the diagram for the Lexus version. I'm guessing that's related to the rain sensor.

I went ahead and got the Lexus part from Toyota for $435. Great deal compared to 'normal' dealership prices, but still pretty expensive for what it is. No idea when it will arrive, but I'm expecting AGC at this point.
Depends on the manufacturer I'd guess, which is why I've been looking into this. Lexus/Toyota don't make their own windshields, so it's possible that a non-OEM sourced windshield was manufactured in the same place/way and just has different branding. I haven't been able to find solid information on who the manufacturer historically has been for the LX/LC, but it seems likely that it is currently AGC.This is wild. I know they contract out some parts but I thought they did their own windshields, now I need to look at mine. Didn't someone say that aftermarket glass was much different than factory?
Is that for the Land Cruiser and the LX 470? Only reason I wonder about different manufacturers is the rumors about the LX windshield having betters noise isolation. The OEM factory-install was Asahi Glass Corporation (AGC); always has been.
A dealer might be substituting an aftermarket part in lieu of the OEM service part possibly due to availability. Most insurance companies don't use the OEM part unless you pay the difference between costs.
