3 fewer wires? How is that going to work out? I am trying to imagine what wire are no longer needed?

For starters, 1976 and 1977 look like the most complicated wiring arrangements compared to previous AND succeeding years.
They actually added separate wires for front and rear turn signal output (instead of a single wire for each that splits down further in the loom) and also ran the brake lights through the turn signal switch.
This re-pop switch resembles the wiring for 1975 and earlier as well as 1978 and 79.
