I appreciate everyone's concern, offers of help for me and my truck.
Again, it could have been much worse. Now that I am in some better spirits this morning, I can discuss some things.
1. Was traveling behind a semi whose trailer started to slip out left and right. I switched lanes and sped up a bit (wasn't going faster than 55mph or so), and his end swerved into my lane and blew up loose snow blinding me. I knew the left lane was clear so I just kept my pace. Once he steadied his truck, I look in front of me and the entire left fast lane was blocked by a two foot wall...I slowed down knowing I was going to hit it....then my tail end spun around, I hit the wall which then took my tires out from under me flipping me once across the median into the other lane. Literally. I was amazed. All of this happened fast and it was over before I knew what happened. My dog was weeping and I jumped out of the seat and went back and saw that he was not injured. I kicked the front windshield out and got out of the truck. A couple had stopped and the man came over to me. His wife called 911. And the rest, well, two wreckers and four winches later, I was back on my wheels.
Thanks to ARB and Christo for their bad ass bumpers that probably saved me eve more in that they were used for the recovery and no damage was done to my truck to right it.
Airbags did not deply, I assume because it wasn't a frontal crash.
This AM, I put the spare tire on the DS rear where the bead had broke. I took the plugs out as Kirk recommended (thanks dude....I owe ya one) and cranked her. Nothing much came out which was a good indication for me that oil hadn't gotten into the plugs and no hydrolocking occurred.
Then, I put the plugs back in, checked all of the fluids and started her up....no problem. Started right up and went right to it's usual 700rpm idle. Completely amazing. I let it warm up and then put it into 4L and locked the front and rear. Both worked fine, thought the xfer stick was a bit tight to pull--probably linkage damage.
Then, I just pulled it right into my garage. There it will sit till the spring thaw when I decide what I am going to do with the truck.
Definitely needs:
1. new winshield.
2. Some body work
3. Probably some xfer stuff. Luckily, I'll be pulling it out for R/R anyway.
Again, thanks to the great cruiser community for your support. You all really are a decent and kind group of people. Pics from today.
Best regards.
