FJ62 Power window motors need replacing. Can I use ones from an old 4runner or will they not work?

Excellent write up. I have not had time to peel all the way through it, but if relays are not present that makes sense. I figured that was the problem with the switches as the green box relay only operates the driver window. Relays, gotta wire in some relays!
I posted some photos of relay wiring and mounting on Post #s 171,178,179, and 184. Takes some time but not too difficult.

Has anyone figured anything out, My passenger side, doesn't work. I'm hoping its the motor.
Looks like the cressida motors work as mentioned above. I still need to mount one of the 80 series or camry motors in my door but all indications is that they will work. Especially since the cressida motors work. But cannot say for sure of course.

Cressida motors do work. Left is left right is right, front or back it doesn't matter. I found the switch to be the weak point, going to try the relay mod soon.

Generally, people remove the master switch, carefully disassemble, clean, and reassemble. I did have a RF door switch fail, and could not figure out how to get it apart repair it, so I just bought a used one. I think there is/was an aftermarket master switch panel sold on eBay recently - this: Master Power Window Door Switch for 1989-1990 Land Cruiser NEW | eBay

Relay Mod is the only real way to fix the window problem. I have had zero issues with my windows after putting in relays, they work flawlessly first time everytime even in zero degree weather. I suggest you bite the bullet and do it. New switches/cleaning never worked more than a few days...my .02$.

I ordered a replacement switch as the passenger one could not actuate down(up was fine), the master switch worked fine from the drivers side.

Anyway the switch came in the wrong color so I reused the housing from the original and installed it.. the button works great!! However now my drivers side master switch for that window doesn’t work...???!?!? It will stop the motion if I’m actuating from the passenger side so I know it’s still a part of the cct but im just unsure as to what I should do now?!
Anyone come across this?

I am still trying to determine a good source for a new motor for my front driver side. I would like to keep all the info in this thread on what has been tried and what works....

I think any of the Toyota ones I posted will work. I believe some of the 80 series folks have had good luck with the doorman motors from the local parts stores as well. Not sure if they sell one for the 62 series?

Got a Dorman 742-600 at my local parts store and thought one of the 3 connector options it comes with would fit as it looked similar (my bad, looked at photos online instead of actually unplugging my own cable to look at the connection in my 62) and it turns out none of the options work with the factory connector. Didn’t even get to removing the motor to see if the holes line up with the regulator for installation. Just wanted to give the update on my own experience with the Dorman motor.pjotos below are of connector on the 62 harness and the three connector options the Dorman came with. It was a non refundable item too :-/
