5 up front. I feel like it’s right on the edge of load capacity so if/when I put a winch on the front I’ll put a 6h leaf on each side. 7 in the rear.

HZJ75 springs with a shackle reversal fwiw.

thx for the pics fellas. I’ll use them to determine what to remove. I’ve been chasing death wobble and I’m 90% certain it’s spring rate related. I’ll probably update my thread with those details but these replies are very helpful.

I also have some death wobble and I have less than 5k miles on this dobinsions and basically everything but steering box is new...

Did you check your tie rod ends for play at all? You can pull the pin on the ends and adjust them with a flathead to get them tight again. When I installed my new tie rod ends from MAF I had to adjust them which made a big difference.

What tire pressures are you running and have you tracked tire temps across the tread with an IR gun to get to optimum pressures? Sometimes this can have a profound impact on ride quality and should be checked. If you need further clarification, let me know.

Cheers, James

Paging @Fyffer!

Mike and I were out together for about a week this past summer and he was fighting death wobble the whole way. We spent some time under his rig every day and it got better, but I think he finally got it solved after we parted ways. Hopefully he comes around to chime in.

Hmm, bouncing from 1 side of the Road to the other at 25-35MPH on dirt road. Yep, that's what I had. But it did rather well on even black top provided no holes or divets and Crawl speeds. Replaced some really worn out Tie Rod ends and a front end alignment fixed that, thanks Brandon @ClassicCruisers. Since a lot more mods to get the right stance, I believe removing the dang 1/2" aluminum spacer in front under the 4* casters was the best thing I did, not constantly retorquing the U bolts. They shift and deteriorates and the centering pins were all really bent out of shape. 2nd best thing was adding steering stabilizers with extension d/t 4"lift. But also added new Damper and shocks. It is currently a very rigid ride with Drawers and fridge removed and I guess 1/4 tank (40Gal LRA) and more items to the swing out. I did install Airbags to rear to aid in compensation and replaced OME medium pack to front with my previous custom Alcans. Tracks and runs great up to 85+ MPH 40 PSI KM3's.

So glad you finally got that solved. I felt so bad for you on that trip. Every time I looked in my rear view mirror your front wheels were dancing back and forth violently 😂 then comes the radio “hey Jim … can you slow down?” Haha

Crap I just wrote 2 paragraphs about my sitch and somehow pressed something that deleted it. Well anyway yeah my tire pressure has been at 35 consistently and dropping it down to 27 helped a lot, but didn't completely eliminate the issue as I just found out on a rainy tractor-trailer infested 2 lane road at night. They're 235/85/16 E rated which are pretty stiff on their own. There's a vehicle weight component too, and where the weight (cargo) is located makes a difference in the occurrence, which is pointing me to front spring rate. So since I have 7 and some of you guys have 5, I'll remove a leaf or two and report back here in a few weeks.

I've had caster issues cause insane death wobble on Ford Super Duties previously. Have you verified your caster is set correctly?

Check the U-Bolts for tension, have seen death wobble caused by loose U-bolts.
