Texascruisin, Where did the hose actually exit the body?
The plastic pipe just funnels the water pretty much straight down staying inside the fender. If you take off the plastic side fender vent you can see the pipe and have a better idea.

That looks pretty thorough. I have a moderate leak during heavy rains that needs to be addressed. The seams you are working on is my last fix or back to the drawing board. Did you have the fender off only for the water leak resolution or were you doing something else at the same time. Reason I ask I was curious how long it took to remove the fender and simplest way to do so.

The fender removal took me about 3 hours the first time since I didn't really know what I was doing. After that, removal is down to 40m. The only reason I've got it off this time is for the leak fix.

Sorry @TheElegantFox, it looks like you're just beading the sealant on there. I think it would help a lot if you were pressing it into the joints and smoothing it out. that way no water could get trapped on top of it. Either way, good that you're sticking with this to get it sorted. Chasing water sucks...

That's a good point, I pressed the sealant in on the main seam but I didn't on the 2nd part of the job. Should I redo it?

It's in there now, might as well water test it. If it's holding, save yourself the work. But I would also check that the water isn't pooling around the sealant. These truck don't need our help in rusting away...

That's a good idea, I may do some light sanding or xacto knife work if water is pooling. Since I'm getting the truck painted eventually, I thought about leaving some fluid film on there as a temporary deterrent.

I think I’ve found another area that might be a culprit. It looks like previous body damage from the front impact I didn’t know about.

What can I do about this section?

I disagree. That's all below the floor. At worst, it'd put water in the rocker panel, not the floor.

I chopped my rocker off in 2011, haven't capped it, and don't have water on my floor during rain (driving or not).

That being said, it should be fixed.

Also caught some water pooling after a hose test. Not sure if water will naturally get to these spots or not. How can I keep water from pooling here?

Should I save this for when the truck is getting repainted?
Up to you! It's going to take some panel beating and some welding to fix it from what I can see.

Eh, I wouldn't worry about the water pooling there. It'll be way harder for water to get to that particular spot when the fender is on.

Yeah, it's definitely more involved than what I can tackle outdoors this winter. I'll do another hose test tomorrow before reassembling and fingers crossed it'll hold.
