You can’t open the TPS, the two screws you mentioned are for adjusting it. Clean the sticking spindle with electronic cleaner, not carb cleaner. once it moving freely, then perform the tests listed in the FSM. Only then will you know if it needs to be replaced.my 62 has been idling high since I bought it 6 months ago. finally have the throttle body off and cleaned it. Also it took off the TPS but can't figure out how to adjust it. The screws you guys mention above...are you literally loosening the two screws that hold the TPS on the throttle body and rotating the whole TPS until it ideas better or are there screws inside the TPS I need to adjust? Can't figure out how to get the cover of the TPS off to see what the diagram shows (above). Lastly, the rotating piece on the backside of the TPS does not seem to be rotating fully back to the stopper when I spin it....is that the problem? It needs to be lubed up to reset properly and then my idle will be fixed?
