I wish the bolt-on stainless system developed a few years back had stuck around. I was a big proponent of it (moreso that it was a complete upgraded bolt-on system than the fact that it was stainless. Though being stainless was a bonus) but sadly it was very short lived as IIRC the designer/seller disappeared.
I believe you are referencing Ryan's, aka OTRAMM creation. He stopped production because he didn't want to be put out of business by the EPA. Google "EPA and diesel tuners". The days of selling aftermarket parts as "offroad use only", and getting by are long over.

I know with OTRAMM he referenced the price of stainless skyrocketing was his main reason for stopping production (now that you've jogged my memory), though I had forgotten he had been making them too. The ones I was thinking of were another Mudder who vanished after only putting out a handful of completed systems.
Interesting about the "offroad use only" being cracked down on, because that was how I asked my current exhaust (tucked inboard of the frame rail, no cats straight to a Flowmaster 3-chamber) to be built a few years ago at a shop in Idaho. This is bad news for any performance or upgrade part manufacturer/reseller.
I took new davico down pipes and cut them to join into a 2 into 1 CAT. Then a V-clamp to tail pipe, muffler and exit out the side. This thread helped inspire getting this done.
Very nice, I was considering the same thing. I'll either get new flanges and build my own SS setup or use the Davico pipes.
Did you grab both Front and Rear pipes or a pair of Rear pipes?

I appreciate the response! I was wondering if anyone has tried a pair of the "rear" pipes that way they are both orientated in the same direction. Thus, it would reduce some of the fabrication involved.
Did the O2 sensors require any extending or did they lay in the *right* places?
Should be able to keep pipes inside the frame rail but your exhaust will be a custom fit. You can start with either stock exhaust pipes or aftermarket and cut them as needed then build the exhaust from there.
I am due for some exhaust love on my 62 and this is a great thread. I really like the idea of the Y pipe into one cat. Is there any restriction issue with this set up? Anything of note?

On my 60 with 3FE exhaust manifolds, I built a Y out of 1.75” from each manifold into 2.5” then into a aftermarket 2.5” cat. The exhaust is 2.5” all the way out from there as well.
The 1.75” is like 5.5” area each tube and the 2.5” is 7.85” area. So the main single exhaust is the restriction (though gas cools and needs less area the further from the head, etc…).
I think whether it’ll be restrictive depends what size tube you’ll run from the manifold into the main exhaust.
What I’d add to the Y discussion: mine come together at the Y, then make a 45 so the main tube is horizontal from there over the crossmember to a V band clamp connecting the down pipe Y assembly to the main exhaust. I’d run that joint before the crossmember. It’s pretty tight getting it all lined up with the crossmember and manifolds all bolted in place.
Only thing is I've never liked that huge OEM muffler. I always preferred a Flowmaster 50 series tucked up out of the way a bit better due to its flatter profile. Is this a full exhaust you're designing, or just as far back as the OEM muffler connection?

I'm excited by this product! My understanding is the CM kit will bolt into the stock muffler. Personally I would prefer a complete stainless exhaust. Perhaps a stainless muffler back setup will be in the cards at a later date?
Thank you!
They're on the list but currently we have not had the bandwitdth or facility to start production on something like this.. we will at somepoint, and since posting these pics get about a message a week from folks wanting to buy one.
As for the muffler the OEM tailpipe is so inexpensive it is a no brainer to use it. Everyone keep buying them please, so Toyota will hopefully keep making them.
