Fj60 windshield wiper issues (1 Viewer)

Hey cruiserheads,

I’m looking for some free advice.

I’ve got a ‘85 fj60 and the other day my windshield wipers started making a strange sound on the downstroke, like there were small bits of something bouncing around behind my dashboard.

Then the next day my wipers stopped working all together, but I can hear the wiper motor still running.

Any idea what has happened?

I would appreciate any thoughts and input, thanks guys and gals!

remember you're getting what you paid for.

most likely the plastic bits that hold the rod to the ball pivot probably broke.

still available new IIRCC, also do the wiper arm upgrade

Plastic bits are NLA. There are a couple fixes here, search for WW fix, and wiper linkage repair. All are pretty hacked tho....

Thanks for the input folks, I appreciate it.
I think I will do the wiper arm upgrade while I'm at it, anyone know the years or model number of the compatible 4runner wiper arm with my '85 fj60? And where would be the best place to buy these parts? I would prefer OEM, and my usual sites for cruiser parts dont seem to have what I need.
