I ask if the make metric and they said some:)

Never got time to as about cruiser.....but they make stuff for big trucks/tractors so they might:meh:.

The fittings I typically use are not crimped on. They are a screw fit.

Like these..

O-k, I am not sure about what box you are running, but I just installed my custom hose using adapters and it was 16mmx1.5 to 6 JIC for the pressure side...

Did you put these in an FJ60? If so, what year?

What size was the return fitting?

I have an 84 FJ60; all 4 mountin holes are square.

How do you crimp the fittings onto the line?

If your using braided stainless then here is a how-to. This would likely be brake lines and maybe heavy duty air lines.

I ended up using heavy walled hydraulic hose for marine application because you almost can't kink it and can't crush it. the operating pressure was 6K psi (I think). I used -6 for the pressure side and -8 on the vacuum side

For these lines you thread the "collar" over the end of the hose, then thread the "insert" into the opening in the hose. that's it.

Yes, FJ60 box and pump. I am not 100% certain what year (I installed on my 40) but I think it was a 1984.

I didn't mess with the return line fittings.

I just ordered fittings from the folks at Lee Mfg. Very nice and helpful on the phone. I ended up ordering all my adapters from them. H-boost and steering pump. I could not find all the fittings at one place so I called Lee. They have a much better price on their fittings than any local hydraulic shop fyi.

Avidly following

Well I have been following this thread and its been a great help for some work I'm about to do.
Can you tell me the size fitting on a stock fj60 PS pump for the high pressure side? is it 17mm x 1.5 like the steering box? Does the inverted flare refer to the metric part of the fitting or the AN male part?
Also does Lee handle that hose that can be cut and put together or can any hose shop supply it? Is there a trade name or style to look for? I'm adding a hydro winch and plan to buy all my own fittings and hoses for the install. Thanks for all the great info.

i'm gonna sit down tonight and go over everything to verify the correct fittings..

I know this is old as hell, but seemed to best be put here. i have a fj60 box but its not inverted flare. the bottoms of the fitting hole are flat. are they oring fittings? i dont have the original lines so i cant check. or is there a piece i might be missing?

hard to tell on that site. but is that the brass fitting inside the box? or the part that screws to the box? also, they only list one, is it for the high pressure side or low pressure side?

It's number 25, the brass "nipple" inside the box.

There is only one listing because they are the same for both sides.

yep, already got those. i ran into the issue of trying to install then and i didnt have that flare fitting in side hte box lol
