Where in So Cal are you, 73fj552?

I got a two-for-one deal

Here's my two-for-one deal. I bought the tan one because it had a great body (don't tell my wife). It also had aftermarket A/C which I hope can work. The other had windows. So for the price of a windshield, I ended up with an entire parts vehicle.

New to forum and new to the pig

Have always wanted one and finally found one. For some reason they don't come up for sale around here much (especially in decent condition)

Jared Little
Year: 1970
VIN: FJ55018073
jaredlittle at gmail dot com
State FJ-55 resides: Montana
Any Modifications: still learning what is stock and what is mod. I know for sure it has a 4speed instead of standard 3.

Looks pretty but paint is covering some rust. I plan on a full restoration of the interior, rust removal and paint. Disc brakes, power steering and Bucket seats with shoulder belts in works.

Very nice! Great to see you. I am a newby to the club as well. I finally got her out of the neighborhood to get a muffler and a pig tail. Got her up to 50! and she smoothed out very nice. She has a shimmy when starting from a dead stop that is coming from the rear but goes away once she gets moving. Not sure, but I think it is a U-joint.

Pretty much stock.

Got a two for one deal. Going to restore this one to be pretty and totally stock. Cruise it around town and light duty camping trips.

What do you mean by "rear panel chop"?
Can't wait to see more details!
Welcome!

new pigger

Well after 3 yrs of searching and test drives I finally purchased my pig. I've owned my 40 since 02 but fell in love with the pigs at my first surf & turf in 05. She has cancer but is in recovery(hehehe). Drove her home 4hrs with no problems at 63mph.

Welcome H2OBoss, Piggy love is a strong pull!
We'll need more pics and the story!

That's Surfpig's ex-Pig...you're not going to have any mechanical trouble with that one.

Roger that Pighead that's why I made the purchase as I posted earlier I've looked long and hard before I made my purchase. She does have some rust but after seeing the thread with all the replacment parts by bob there are no worries.

thanks for the welcome PabloCruise

Hi Pablo,

In regards to the panel chop, the rear quarter panel has been cut to now be just about level with the rear floor pan. I tried to upload an image of it but it exceeds upload limit.

Tried also to include a photo of the re-assembled front differential sporting new disc brakes, backing plate eliminator kit, 1.5inch Spidertrax wheel spacers and the 40mm diameter tie-rod i had machined up. Have now got the Nylon rollers in the winch fairlead and front bar with the Warn is all done. Have just ordered the "PIG.055" plates from the Dept. of Transport as well.

Will check the threads about upload limits. New to uploading photos and re-sizing etc. so slow process. Really proud of all you guys in the States and your following of all things Cruiser, so great to see...especially pig-wise.

Thanks,
Nathan in Oz
