Just trying to help, but aluminum likes to be real clean when you weld it. Grind it or etch it. What are you using for shielding gas??

I’m using 100% argon gas.. you’re right it could be cleaner. Again it’s just an idea that this might work. I’m sure the gear that the motor drives is going to be the weak point. More of a proof of concept. The spool gun does make a building up material really easy. I’m stripping this bellview down now ( market place give away at $75.00) for the dual motor concept alsoJust trying to help, but aluminum likes to be real clean when you weld it. Grind it or etch it. I have an idea using a brake assembly off of an atv. The lathe can make short work of that fab. Or a drum brake setup like the fj40 parking brake. Maybe electric or air assisted stopping. Let me put some big brain juice towards it. I’m slow right now, everything is fighting me….Have you thought about some kind of break on the 8000? I let mine go years ago mainly for the lack of that safety feature.
Brain juice, I've never heard it called that before, just beer.Let me put some big brain juice towards it.
Gear boxes will have a small brake off the back of the motor (let the gear reduction work for you) and are spring engaged and electrically disengaged when the motor is powered.Let me put some big brain juice towards it.
That’s awesome- let me look at prices.Gear boxes will have a small brake off the back of the motor (let the gear reduction work for you) and are spring engaged and electrically disengaged when the motor is powered.
