I was next in line, sheared off the transfercase out put flange on the front and blew the drive shaft in the rear and cut a valve stem off. Fun times.

For those asking I have an Orion transfercase, double cardan rear driveshaft. * also should note that the reason I was at the park was a local 4x4 club in FWB puts out a poll to vote for a new park each year. They showed up year just as soon as I was broken!

If anyone knows this guy in the FJ40 he winched me back down the trail. The cowboy hat is the park owner, he drives a monster Jeep Cherokee. He said he could tow me up the trails to camp. He did very easily.

So the cruiser gods shined once more. Jason Braswell called me on the way up to Missouri. We talked for a minute and he said he was thinking of buying another cruiser. As fate would have it the Person sell it was one of the people we met at the crawl last year. He was located just north of Springfield. Jason asked if I had room and could I bring it to Huntsville. Sure..

One of the nerd things I saw in Missouri was this turn of the century lathe. 10ft bed, probably run off the power shaft in the ceiling for the 4in belt. The motor is single phase 220. Chris the owner is going to make driveshafts. Every things still spins easily.

One of the cool things was this abandoned cabin in the woods on the forest trails. Missouri has embraced side by side - by allowing them drive on paved roads and in town. We made a 50 mile loop around town and through some of the back woods of our youth.

So this update: work has stopped on the 55. The 40 is flying on the lift until parts arrive. Just a matter of time now till I’m back on it.
