Have you tried "A-Z" junkyard in Evans??? I was just there the other day, they have 2 pigs in various stages of disrepair...but they might have that trim piece you are looking for.

T minus 10 days....

Not much to report......except that THE MOTOR FIRED UP TODAY:bounce::bounce2::beer::beer:

I need to tune it in though....2 questions

First, Which of the two vac ports is advance, and which is retard. I plan to cap the retard (hehe, juvenile i know).

And second, of the 3 vac ports on the carb base (2 are currently capped) Which is best for distrubutor advance

It is the stock dizzy and stock Aisan 2bbl carb.

A little work with timing, and she starts up without touching the throttle...

Spent the rest of the day on the rear tailgate. Had some trouble getting the right mix of felt and rubber for the rear window tracks, but 3rd time was a charm, and it is snug, but not too tight. Cleaned and lubed up the motor and gear assembly.

Only missing the return spring for the safety lockout.

New felt and rubber all around.

Did you say once your real job was a chef? Man, I would think you were a professional restorer! This Piggie looks sweet!

Always nice to get some props! Thank You. Yes, Full time chef, part time restorer. I would not mind seeing that switch to part time chef, but we shall see.
This Pig is my first full restoration for someone else. However, previous to my career as a chef, I was a mechanic. I found out doing brake jobs and oil changes was not as glamourous as one would hope. (and at the end of the day, I had little interest in working on my own ride) So, full time job, hobby doing only automotive work I WANT to do, like a full resto on something unusual, or engine swap for a friend, etc... If I could make a living doing only restos, I would, but thats a tricky market. At least this pig will make a nice "calling card" to show what I can do, if you can afford it! ;)

Jason

PS. 7 days to go, I better get back to the garage....

No pics today, the truck is getting an exhaust system built. However, before it left, I did get stereo wired up, brakes are in and working, rear driveshaft is in, so, truck moves and stops under its own power. And, got the insulation formed and cut for under the floormats. T-minus 6 days, looking good....

Seat questions

I know you're working toward a deadline and if you don't have time to answer then I understand.

Dude, those seats are sweet. Who did them and what did it set you back. I had a similar thought except red and white to match mine - a la vintage 50's and 60's street rods.

eventhough-

Generic JC Whitney. 4ftx24ft roll. Cutting and forming it to fit. Not hard to work with, a Sharpie marker, Household scissors, and a couple razor blades.

Offroad Raqe-

Todd at Jerry's Upholstery in Fort Collins, Colorado, did the seats and door panels. As to what it set us back, I dont know, we worked a trade through the restaurant. Red and White would be really nice looking. I had suggested Blue and White on this Pig, because black vinyl is so fun in the summertime(you get it in AZ, i'm sure) but the owner liked the black. Todd suggested the white piping, I think it sets it off.

Had to work "real job" today. Did get all door panels in. Painted the rear emblems. Spent too much time fixing the rear seat back latches. Before, no latch, now, both latch. PITA!

Anyway, pics for the needy.
