are those the brackets that go all the way to the floor? I dont have any stock type brackets at all & need to clear the tool box under the driver's seat on a 71 fj40

Yes they go all way to the floor, I am not sure on whether or not they will work over the toolbox. I would say they will fit over the toolbox but I don't know how far the lid could open.
@Jdc1 do you have the buckets in your 40 with the toolbox? Or did you go with the split bench?
I'll be rocking the split 5 piece bench. A cheat to get a bucket seat over the toolbox would be to use the bracket that the original drivers seat mounts to and fab up mounting tabs for the newer bucket. Scat/procar makes an adaptor for their buckets that you could borrow their design for ideas on how to mount a later fj40 bucket.
