I bet those are all brand new cruisers, anybody know what toyota did with the cruiser line when they discontinued. When I was in Kuwait talking to some locals i found out they still make brand new chevy's of the 80's era. Some company over there bought the lmanufacturing line from chevy and are still pumping out brand new truck from the best year they were made.

The goat does'nt look real happy.......

Ahla Wa Sahla, Sorata Jamela..
Well, thats my attempt to speak Arabic, good thing we all speak 40 here.

Great photos. Thanks for sharing. Even though I travel all over in my job I am always amazed at the presence of 40s nearly everywhere and that the owners nearly always have the same ideas for mods, same curiosity on how you solved the problem in fitting X into some nook or cranny, the same moment of truth when you roll off road to test out your mod in front of your buds. All of that and fresh roast meat...now that's livin'

Takes me back to the good old days, I was in Saudi Arabia during Desert Storm. We had many GOJ's (Gifts of Japan) that we drove. I had a 70 truck to haul parts. We also had hundreds of 100 series that we drove everywhere, all were sand, beige or white(dark colors are not good at 135 degrees). We drove the highways from our base at Al Kharj to Jeddah and Dharhan. We also made excursions to "The End of the World" a spot in the desert where it is a hundred miles to nowhere and the cliffs drop off for hundreds of feet. Imagine if everything from Dumont to Glamis was all dunes. We were liucky to get to see all of it, the Saudi government doesn't just let people in, you have to be muslim or be giving them billions in business.

seems like few of you have actually eaten fresh food before. those pix make me hungry...but the neighbors will get pissed if i kill another goat in the back yard. btw, they're better w/ the skin on.

Actually... two months ago one of my neighbors gave a "pet" goat to a family in the neighborhood and a week later the next door neighbor's kid saw them killing the goat in the backyard. They actually got the cops called on them. :D

1431 would be the current year, cannot help on the rest,

Hi All:

mshrf5, thanks for posting up the photos! Looks like a big club trip, with the 40 Series guys "living the life!" :D

So, which river is that in the photo? I'm assuming this is on the Arabian Pennisula; probably not the area near Yeman though! :frown:

Regards,

Alan

Cool pics  I would love to go to those deserts.

damn, even the goat got to go wheeling, no wonder he died with a smile on his face.

here we just shove the live food into the slaughter houses with fork lifts. makes you wonder.

fresh food, nice trucks, good friends and great scenery... what more can you really want on a off road trip?
