Interesting (sad really) that they also smoothed over the windshield hook retainer holes and the windshield rest holes. Those retainers are like hens teeth. Are you going to drill out the spot welds from a 40 hood to get some?

Nope. They never existed on the hardtop models ;).

They smoothed over a lot of seams with filler for some silly reason, but the hood hooks and windshield rests were only on the softtop models of FJ25's and very early FJ40's.

Not logical; form follows function. It was my understanding that if your truck was equipped with windshield HINGES, the truck was spec'd for the possibility that the windshield would be folded. Hence the lack of holes on the LVs and the 1962 and63 FJ45s.

Doesn't makes sense, but it's true. I have 4 original hoods here from a 1959 FJ25, 1960 FJ25, and 2 1962 FJ40's that all came from the factory without windshield rests and hooks. All are/were hardtop models and all had windshield hinges.

I second that. My 2 soft tops both have the hood hooks and rests. My hard top in original paint does not. I guess they never intended for someone to remove the hardtop and drive it like that. So, why put them on there.

Wow, I would have agreed with Mark and thought for sure that the folding windshield would have come with the hook retainer and rest. I just learned something new about the 25.

To all of you who have contacted me, I've got about another 7-10 days before I start tooling and polishing the brass emblems. It takes about 6 hours each emblem, and then they need to go to be chrome plated.

Most exotic cruiser parts on display. Not sure why but they are looking as yummy as it can get.

Hello, is there anyone who sells me please an T-Bird emblem for my Toyota? I would be very glad to complete the old car. I would be glad to have a door handle right rear. Thank you for a feedback. Greetings, Günter
