FJ 60 Vibrating at higher speeds - Help

Regardless. It always happens. Doesn’t matter if it’s in gear or neutral, engine on or engine off, touching the brakes or not touching them. It’s strong enough to shake the whole car.
A speed related vibration is almost always wheel or unjoint related. A bad alignment will not cause a vibration directly but it can cause irregular wear in tires or cupping etc.

I honestly would pull all your wheels and dismount the tires. Spin each wheel on the balanced and make sure the plain wheels are not out of balanced. When I bought my cruiser it had some stock sized tires on it. I drove the truck 2000 miles home and had a very cyclical vibration. Finally stopped and had the wheels and tires rebalanced and thought it was better it wasn’t gone. When i got home I put all new tires on and the problem went away.

The only other common issue would be an out of phase u joint or some odd driveshaft angle problem or lack of grease perhaps

Couple more thoughts…when you did the knuckles what was the final torque on your wheel bearings. Also when you feel the vibration where do you feel it? Does the whole truck shake? Or does just the steering wheel or shifter etc?

Lastly if your rear drive shaft is out and the front hubs are freewheeling and the truck is towed at 55+ mph and the vibration hits then it’s really back to tires

Already swapped front wheels to back and then done a realignment. New tyres and a balance are on the list, but I actually think it might be suspension related

I only feel the vibration at low speed, like in the 3-8km/h range. Once the truck is moving it more or less disappears

The whole truck shakes. Not the steering wheel or shifter. I haven’t done the knuckles and don’t know when (or if!) they’ve ever been redone.

My bad I confused your post with the OP’s post.

Jack the front and kick the tires, tie rods. Mine did, even greasing will tighten up things. Even if it has nothing to do with your steering be a good exercise 😁
I've already gone one better then that and replaced both tie rods ends and both drag link ends too... The steering is nice and tight now but the groaning and vibrating at low speed remains :(
