i like it!

Why did you choose PS for the tire vs. DS?

Also- is it an optical illusion, or does the jerry can lean away from the back hatch?

VERY nice work. Nice attention to detail too.

x2 on the plans/drawings if you made any..

Nothing in terms of plans/drawings. Just worked with some cardboard templates, but even then the final pieces needed tweaking to fit right.

I chose the PS to counter-weigh the OEM gas tank on the DS. Plus, I just like the way it looked better on that side and it doesn't obstruct the rear view as much as you'd think.

The jerry can does seem to lean away a little. Not sure why. I guess its better that leaning into the tailgate.

Nice job. I have one of the Wildyoats bumpers and it's been great. I only have a single swingout but I put it on the passenger side as well. My reasons for the swingout on the passenger side was to counter the weight of the driver. For me at ~160lbs, the swingout with spare is probably just about the right balance.

Good work.

Nice work........I am feeling inspired.

As a daily driver/kid hauler you can use your gas can holder to carry the 40lb diaper bag.........4 fraggles under 4, kudos to you dude.

Awesome write up and build, just what I needed to get off my butt and get to work.

Excellent job, very nice work!!

i like your idea with the gas shocks to keep the swing arms out. looks great!

if the can does, in fact, lean out, you might want to see if you can get it more vertical.
the difference in force on the swing out is pretty big.

ie: with the top of the can leaning away from the truck, every bump makes the can act like a lever- pulling the swing gate out and twisting on the pivot arm.

if the can is vertical, then the force is simply directed downward onto the bumper. Much better, long term.
