Even better

93-94 trucks had exhaust over frame with a huge heat shield over that. Newer rigs don't have the shield with exhaust under frame. After I moved mine to "over frame", I fashioned a handmade shield to go in the same location. I also doubled up on the 3 other heat shields on the firewall and frame. Ran Pikes Peak @ 3000-4000 rpm all the way up in low range last month. Wifey had no complaints about hot feet. She even mentioned how she was surprised at how nice and cool the floor was.
How often do you have her on the floor in your truck? My wife prefers the hatch area, with the back seats folded down usually.

Hatch, hood, fender, floorboard: a landing is a landing! :bounce::bounce2:
Never forget the roof top tent action. With the right lighting inside, you can freak out a full campsite if you try hard enough.

Glad to help. God knows I've stolen enough info from MUD over the past 11 years or so.

I haven't got back to sourcing a new gasket for the 23120 yet. The first couple days the nuts wiggled loose and the gasket fell out. Apparently not a simple thing to find(?), then I got sidetracked again as usual and now just drive around with another exhaust leak. Though this one sounds a little nicer. :) My exhaust guy will take care of it if I ever make it back there.
Forgot to update that these are just the OEM Toyota exhaust gaskets. Nothing hard to find at all. Magnaflow just sends an OEM gasket with the 23120.

Thanks for posting this, super helpful! I have to rebuild the exhaust in my 97 this winter.

Nicely done. Just ordered the wye pipe.

No issues so far just running the one CAT?
I've had the PO401 for about 12 years now, but no change yet. One of these days I may actually tear into it and clean out all the ports and test some egr parts. :)

I've only had my P0401 for 2 years - I feel much better knowing that I can go another 10 years without needing to address it.

OK, doesn't sound like an insurmountable problem. I can find plenty of scrap cookie sheets to fashion heat shields with.
It's easy to source a early 80 passenger side heat shield for cheap, and the mounting bolts are still there on the body on the later 80s, just not used.
