Thank you.

Should be an exciting next few months.

Hope the Chocolate isn't feeling slighted! My 8 y o gal would!

My lab is still my girl, still sleeps in with me every day. In the garage with me now.

The pup was a gift to my GF as she's a runner and hikes every week which is every other day now with the pup.

Yesterday at the dog spa.

I wouldn't run with the GSD until 18 months old, especially on pavement, because their joints are not fully developed and can be damaged from the pounding. I run 6 miles with my 3 year old GSD and he does great unless it is too hot.

They're not running, they're hiking a few miles every other day. I wish it was every day as that dog has endless energy.

12inch softball, bat open field. My lab Scout would go all day retrieving what I hit.

Awesome?is the solenoid just resting there?

No, see the pic of the back? Drilled and installed nut serts. Then drilled through air cleaner box and used 1" of fuel line between the box and solenoid box. Replaced all the battery cables to the winch. I started at 9am this morning.

I did find this great item at Napa. Lead sheet center, so you can form it any way you imagine. Tossed it in my kit for my truck.

Shane, just tried to shoot you a PM but looks like your inbox is full.

Give some details on the new hard top CVT tent. Any particular reason for the swap?

I would love a little feedback and some more pictures if you have a little free time.

Thanks

Love those funnels. I have one and it's awesome.

CVT sponsors me and I them. I wanted to try out the hard shell and CVT needed mine for there showroom demo. So I drive over to bend and swapped them out. and while I was there I set up his old 3-door Suburban with gutter mounts and my Yakima adapters. He mounted his new McKinley tent on it. That tent us huge! 84x48 closed.

The hard shell is easy open, and closing you need to tuck both sides in and you're good to go closing it.

Pros

  • lower height
  • 5 second opening
  • R value insulation
  • My M load bars are inch on center and tent is Metric so they dont work, but thats ok as I would run Thule/Yakima load bars as my brackets secure the bars to the tent and to my rack.
  • With Thule?Yakima load bars you can run bikes on one side or both.
  • You can run a CVT 55" awning off the back with no issues

Cons

  • entry opens like a "n" so it doesn't open at the bottom, making access odd as the ladder then hits the fabric. I however had tie down eyes on my rack and oriented them under the opening and attached the ladder hooks to them.
  • no rear entry.
  • cant stand up (us shorter folks) and change
  • no annex room capability
  • cant hang a light inside
  • cant run awning on one side and axe on the other. (working on the axe side, I think I have an idea)
  • scree was on the outside and not inside, making snow, rain, bugs attach to the screen.

No noise difference for me with all my gear.

For me and LabRaK gear I would like to have the Shasta as it's a little more work to put up and down.

Specific questions? let em rip.

Shane

So if you were shelling out cash for the hardtop or the Shasta which would you be more inclined to buy?
Does the hard shell only sleep two comfortably? For the amount the hardtop would cost you could you get the shasta, annex, and awning too and still have $ left over?

For me, Shasta. It has way more room and height which makes camping on the roof comfortable. Attach the annex for a storage room and dog kennel and all is happy. Plus it allows for more storage up top and I'm able to run an awning and have it open on the other side. Plus I really enjoy watching the stars from inside the Shasta and it has more privacy.

Also it didn't change my mileage as 270 miles it the max with either tent installed.

My .02 and that's if I had my choice and they were free.

It sure looks cool though and those who love to sticker the crap out of there gear, this is for you ;-)

CVT has a huge group buy going on a few other forums and has posted in the vender section, looks like 30% off.

Happen to have a link to that group buy? Couldn'tfind it.
