Yorks are great compressors! However there's inadequate space within our engine compartments for a York. In fact it took me some time indeed to get the OBA system with the much lower profile Sanden stuffed into the 2UZFE!

Check out these mobile belt or PTO driven screw compressors for trucks that output up to 150cfm!!!

Got a jack hammer? :D

Rig update:

The spressoAIR OBAv2 prototyping process is done. I'm in the process of building a website and becoming an official MUD vendor. However I have 4 (four) spressoAIR OBAv2 kits, apart of the remaining kits from my initial build, available that will be discounted for interested parties. The specialty parts, brackets, pulleys, etc. will sell for $995.

I am providing incentive pricing on the 4 remaining spressoAIR OBA2 build kits with two options:
Option #1: Take the $245 cash discount for the OBAv2 kit ($995 - $245 = $750). Source your own Sanden, port adapters and serpentine belt.
Option #2: Take the OBAv2 kit for the regular price of $995 and get the new Sanden SD7 4711 air compressor, the intake/output head adapter fittings for the Sanden and the longer Gates Micro-V serpentine belt at no charge.

The spressoAIR OBAv2 is priced in the same ballpark as other belt driven on board air kits for other platforms; this is a first for the 2UZ-FE! Having said that its never going to compete, price point wise, with most electric air compressors; especially low end air pumps.

This set-up is for the folks that want/need ~10cfm all the way to 200psi (and above; 100% duty cycle rated to 240psi and rated at 9.5cfm to 240psi). It will inflate a 35" tire from 20psi to 50psi in under 90-seconds; that is with the standard schrader tire valves...monster type valves may allow even faster inflation). As well as supply unlimited amounts of air for any purpose...without taxing the rig's electrical system, etc. All via the serpentine belt.

PM me for full details.

The other project that got some traction today is installing the Marlin t-case gear reduction (low range) set. I happened to call Ben at Slee Offroad at the right moment, a month ago or more, and he had a Marlin gear set to sell me (very limited availability right now): Thanks!

More to come...

X4...who are you? My buddy knows I go on here all the time and was bored at work and decided to check out mud...his first question was just that..."who is that spressomon guy?

All I could say "I've gathered that he liked cruisers and espresso"

Spresso is a magical being, with powers :wrench: that transform Cruisers. He is protected by the gods and can get down :steer: the Flint grade without brakes. And in the middle of The Maze serve up a perfect latte.

Just for the record, it was UP the Flint trail, not down. Otherwise, I agree.

I dont need to increase the fan fare for Dan. He has helped me SO many times this past year. He and I talked about the system and I know and trust anything he puts out will be well though out. With other repairs on the horizon... I just couldnt justify it at this time. But, please, please (I am begging) help him get this off the ground!

One more multi-point switchback after my brake line ruptured and there's a very likely chance I wouldn't have updated my ROTM after May 1, 2010.

Here's a shot of that day on the Flint Trail...right before I blew a brake line. Nuts.

And the gang a couple days later on HITR. What another great trip that was! Precious memories I'll tell ya!

Thanks for the kudos guys...I'm blushing

HITR was a great trail/trip.

Dan, what are your impressions of the Marlin. Install/Performance/Value? In Moab last weekend I was wishing I was just a little lower a lot of the time.

Its sitting on the bench with gears installed...waiting for a bearing and a snap ring. Then I can button it up and install it.

The gear cut/finish is really good!

So how are the shock mounts coming along?

We were talking about Barney Riley from the 395 side for the weekend of the 31th if your looking for a shakedown.

^ Got the brackets fabbed, suspension cycled, gussets cut and all tacked...just waiting on the welder. He was supposed to come up last night but had full time/more pressing issues. So hopefully tomorrow evening the welding will be done.

I'd do it myself but I'm a little nervous about welding thick plate to thin frame material while laying on my back...so I figured it made sense to get a pro to do that part.

Mobi-Arc/Scott sent the welder...so I'm working on getting that installed in the interim.

BR sounds like fun but the timing isn't good for me that weekend.

Did you get your 100 issues figured out?

I took it to the shop I mentioned. They did the 100K and it just might be the water pump, so I might get lucky and not have to spend a a$$ load of $$$ and time to get it fixed.

I'm running out of time, got to get the ground ready for veggies soon if you want beets and stuff this year. Plus I have two trucks to get Rubicon ready now.

Finally got my OBW (On Board Welder) installed!

And it works great...I hope I never need to use it! ;)

Thanks Scott @ Mobi-Arc!

While working on the installation of the Mobi-Arc OBW (see post 420), and after 3-weeks of cutting/grinding/fabbing/test fitting/suspension cycling/cussing and cussing some more :D I completely re-did the rear upper shock mounts. And I must say, with a little pride here, they turned out perfect!

Like they say: "If you want something done right...do it yourself".

Some of the 4x4 fab shops, even the 'big boyz', give used car salesman a good name  Took me a while to build up the confidence to attack this job...but sure glad I did. Other than still trying to get small specks of grit out of my eyes...

Live and learn I guess.

But after running and testing the rig in DV last week the suspension has never felt better.
