So, we tore into it. Last time I tried to do it not using paper gasket from Toyota just using silicone... not gonna do that again

Then while we wait for the paper gasket, started working on the flairs. @Zane

Got one more pass of fiberglass before I called it a night. I used some foam for filler

you can use hytech filler balls mixed with resin to fill big gaps. i might have some at the house. To fill from the back after you remove it. Text me if you need some in the transport parts carrier.

Thanks for the offer. Foam will work just fine for the little area I have to work on still.

I do need to shorten the back side of these, raising the bottom edge, you can see some yellow tape on the cut line in the picture. I can't recall what to use for release agent??? Last time, I just made teh pattern and used HVAC tape. Anyone have a better release agent?

Vasoline? Let me see if i have a special release agent in the garage.. I had a casting kit at one point in time to recreate a gasket. Hobby lobby carries release agent as well.
I have built molds with modeling clay to keep JB weld where i wanted it.

Sounds good. I am headed to the paint shop in Olathe today, will see if they have anything.

Mold release avail at hobby lobby. I'll put it in jenns car if you want it.

Cough, Cough, Ahem! Remember when we put the 5.29's in Lexi. Not as bad but both leaking now.

Oh, that sucks. About 4 hours because of a $6 paper gasket!

Have you tried "The Right Stuff" in BLACK on those differentials before?

I’ve pulled 4 Toyota diffs and have to retorque all of them because of leaks. They all seemed to seal up and stay tight the second go around. It’s worth a shot.

WOW! Just scanned through this entire thread. So cool. So much work. Such a great project for you two! Congrats on everything you have accomplished so far!!!!!

Pretty sharp young man.

Thank you, sincerely.

Great shots too.
