Went to put the 1/2 tub together and the new rear seal was 2" longer than the stock one. Found this out as I was fitting the 1/4s. I could have cut it down but decided to repair/rebuild the stock one. There were to many other little things wrong with the aftermarket one. I wish someone made good replacement sheet metal. I will post pics in the morning

I removed the rear floor plan while i was waiting for my metal to arrive and decided to have the media blaster come and clean to expose all the rust. i will post after pics this afternoon.

This may be a dumb question but, what did you mean when you said you " decided to have the media blaster come and clean". Is there some guy with a portable blaster that will come by and blast for you? I'm only asking because I'm just getting started with my build and that would be great if there were something like that. I mean to not have to hall the body off would be great.

My daughter is 15 and has been watching for 3 years. A friend of hers spent the night last night and came into the garage and said, "that's a really cool Jeep." My daughter immediately told her without knowing I was there, "don't call it a Jeep or my dad will freak." I guess she's been watching and listening.

Classic comment,:D have a similar situation , My Daughters friends recon she has the coolest cruiser, one friend offered to buy customised number plates,,,,, another was here spending the night , around 9pm I found them sitting in the cruiser in the shed:clap: , seems once :banana:always:banana:

Great work

Very envious of your metal working skills, great story , going to be a special truck.

My daughter just turned 16, has learner plates:steer: so am rushing to get "our" :hhmm: BJ42 on the road, bit of body work to finish, rebuild transfer, sort charging problem, trying not to let it drag on.

I don't know how to get the quote box, but there is a mobile media blaster guy in our area. He came to the house and blasted everything.

Sweet, im in Florida but I'll check to see if there's anything like that in my area. Ditto on the metal skills, those floor pans are looking good. Where did you get the new pans anyway?

Yep, I'll bet there's all kinds of environmental regulations and clean up after every job.

I was told by the baster that the media is environmentally safe. You would be suprised at how little mess there is, most of it is carried by the wind.

Could always soda blast it.
