Failed motor mounts - URJ200 - Anyone had it happen?

Got the drivers side mount out. Wasn't that bad and perhaps it helps to have a mild body lift?

To say it was fubared is generous! Worse than @cruiseroutfit video.

The mount is 100% separated, I can spin it around and put it in all sorts of funny angles. 178k miles, heavy towing, and fun offroad pre-running might have something to do with it.

While I'm in there, might as well spend the extra 30 minutes to do new OEM UCAs that I've had lying around for awhile. Easy to sneak the mount out once the UCA is out. I suspect it can also be removed by the catalytic converter once the inner shield is removed?

What were your symptoms?

LOL, I thought the drivers side was going to be the bad one. Passenger side is worse! Same, fully separated but even less rubber left. I attribute it to lots of engine braking for towing and 37s.

What were your symptoms?
I still have a clunk in the 1-2 or 2-1 shift, which is either some driveline slop (I suspect) or the transmission is refusing to disengage its gear. Motor mounts are good, I had a dealer check and did a brake stand as well and the engine doesn't move.

As others mentioned, it's a remote damped thud when taking off from a stop. I've noticed as slop or lurch in stop and go on a steep incline queuing for school drop off, on a 1-2 shift. The symptoms might be more obvious once I get her put together and run an offroad trip this weekend.

Had a dealer check my brakes before purchase

Said they were well within spec

They were metal to meral

Tustin Toyota here in SoCal. Seriously

@Boston Mangler @tbisaacs Created a new thread with consolidated install instructions

Pretty sure mine are hosed though from outside inspection they look fine.. but that thunk.

I’ll be trying to do them with the UCAs still in, if possible.

Keep us posted, I’m contemplating the same

Did you ever figure out what your problem was?

Did them with the head gasket work. The thunk I was getting is gone now.. though when I got them out mine weren't nearly as fragged as teckis' mounts.

Yeah I figured it out when my transmission burned out the B2 (2nd gear engine brake) clutch pack. I think the solenoid was bad and not regulating pressure correctly because the death of engine braking was pretty sudden, but I can’t prove that. I drove 350 moles with it failed and while I tried to avoid 2nd gear ultimately there were enough shiny flakes in the oil I just swapped it rather than wasting $ and time trying to repair ir
