Thanks you guys!

Just noticed today that it barely contacts my Northshore bike rack when it's folded down as the fork holders are pointing outward on the passenger side vs inward on the driver's side. Should be an easy fix.

I gotta admit, esp since this works & fits with the North Shore bike rack, one of these on the new "lowrider" 80 would really be nice. I'm keeping this 80 more restrained compared to the black one & no plan to sell either, just use differently.

Keep us posted when kits are a reality, no need to re-invent the wheel (or carrier)!

I'm new to the Land Cruiser World (sold my jeep a few months back) and am supper impressed with your fab work here. You definitely have an interested customer if you ever start selling kits. I'm not used to having the spare hanging low like it is and this would be a great moderately priced solution.

Thanks for the compliments you guys! I will update the thread around mid May with availability and options.

I think the 6 bike Northshore rack might contact the swing out when it is opened due to its width. I am not entirely sure, but that's something to consider. I'm not sure if you have the NSR-2, NSR-4, or NSR-6, but the two works without issue, and the 4 requires a 1/4" or so of grinding on one peg.

@SUMMIT CRUISERS X 2 on that.
Great work! What color is your paint? Is it the FJ40 tan? Looks fabulous on the 80...

Thanks! It's FJ40 Dune Beige left over from on of my dad's FJ40 restorations. Here's the thread from back when we painted it.

Black and Tan (Dune Beige) painting completed

Currently building kits. I will update soon with more details for those interested. Kits will be available in both passenger and driver side configurations.

Since you're now in kit-mode (it's about time!!! :)), you mentioned back here you were also working up installation instructions. I'm happy to give these a preview and provide comments if you think it'd help get some extra eyes on this before kits leave your hands. I'm no stranger to tech documentation so if interested, I'm happy to help.

Looking forward to that passenger side kit......

This thread is a perfect display of some incredible work. Two thumbs up to you sir

Subscribed, need to get that tire hung but can't afford a bumper yet. This may work out fine.

Any updates?

The first batch is nearly there. I have 90% of the pieces done and here. The spindles just arrived and are awaiting modification.

I should have @SUMMIT CRUISERS III's swing out finished today along with the last few pieces cut. I will then be working on the installation manual.

As soon as that is complete I will be putting them up for grabs. A link will be posted here to an ad in the for sale section.

As they are ordered I will begin the work required to designate them for driver's/passenger's side.

Woohoo!

Settled on a price yet?

I'm in - Passenger Side - yes, being a nuisance and looking to cement an order in advance of a post in the 'for sale' section . I'll be busy with work/travel over the next couple weeks, don't want to miss out on the first batch.

Well done, SCJ......

p.s. what IS that 3FE discount going to be??? :)

I'm in for both (depending on price), like to re-purpose right side for water/fuel Scepter jugs or a Yeti setup like you have.
