Evening,
Does anyone know if the factory bumper end caps come painted directly from Toyota? This was the case when i purchased and end cap for an FJ Cruiser several years back. Mine are looking rough on the 80 series I am restoring and I am weighing my options moving forward. Steel bumpers would be nice, but funds are limited. :(
Thanks,
David

Front bumper I'm guessing? Yes, They are gray plastic that match the bumper. I've ordered the passenger side one for my truck. Not cheap.

For a?

Take it to a body shop, have them fill in the blemishes and then paint. Should be relatively cheap, couple hundred dollars. They do this all the time for dealers to get cars ready to sell.

I bought them on Amazon for $95 each. Painted. Pretty sure they came from a dealer in Florida.

You are going to spend ~$180 on endcaps, ~$100 on paint, and still have a tissue paper weight bumper.

Nah, I'm buying the 3/16" Steel Bumper kit for $500 and shipping for $100.

I hear ya, but not everyone wants a bull bar. OP said he wanted OEMs and I was giving him an inexpensive way to get a nice bumper.

If memory serves the current front 95-97 caps come in prime and need to be painted. The rears may still come painted but I an no longer in a position to confirm it.

It's extremely difficult to get paint work down in California for cheap, otherwise this would be a good option. I have talked with some in the past and their minimum is $500. Even the rattle cans in the factory color and clear from the paint shop is over $100. I think it has to do with the paint booths and regulations from the Air Resources Board. Probably just reach out to a few shops before buying new endcaps, then order one to see. Thanks to all who replied. Will let you know what i find either way.

Buy the Graphite Duplicolor Wheel Paint from an auto Parts Store (FLAPS), lightly sand them, and spray them at home. It will be pretty close. You can do the same with the bumper and beat the dents out of it, bondo the areas necessary, sand them, and paint with the same stuff. Can do an epoxy primer under it if you want for a little better protection.

I did this, but then turned around and removed all mine to add a winch (no bumper).
