Exo cage on a 40 Series

Has anyone out there put an exocage on a 40 series or a 45 truck cab.

I am currently in the process of building up an FJ40 to be used for rockcrawling and general wheeling. I originally intending to run a soft top but after seeing TRAILTOYZ dovetailed hardtop the creative juices started to flow!:doh: .A cab could be just the ticket for winter driving.

I am thinking of having an exo cage to protect the cab and glass from trees, rocks, banks etc aswel as the enevitable rollovers.

The search function didnt come back with anything so just wondering if anyone else has tried it. Pics would be great.

if I was to do some sort of exo, I would make it simalar to my freinds TJ, not the best picture but you can see the tubes that run along the wheel well and ties to his rockers. It has tubes that penitrates his body and ties into is cage. It has really worked out well for him he has been beating that jeep hard for 5 years and the body is remarkably straight.

why add unecessary weight??
 
personally i wouldnt put a exo on...just dont like 'em. i think sliders, cage, tube fenders and a front hoop would be enough protection for pretty much anything....and take the hard top off for wheeling. if you wanna wheel in the winter either keep an extra hard top like i do, dress real warm or just keep the damn thing on its wheels!:flipoff2:

i like the look of the TJ.. especialy because its nice to see photos on mud of Colo Springs Area!!

Looks like im going back to my original idea of a soft top. And mabey having a removable hard top.

Has anyone shortened a 40 series roof into a 45 series truck roof?

Nope, I looked into replacing my cage. If I used a MT basic cage to replace mine, I would save perhaps 50 lbs.. Probably less. My birdcage aint that heavy..
 
how long is the wheel base on that thing. looks long 100" ?
