Excessive maintenance on gx470?

Hi all I'm looking at an 07 gx470 with 125k on the clock. Good news is all service was done at the dealership but the amount of work done seems to be excessive. I've only copy/pasted the uncommon service (no oil changes, tire rotations). Does anything seem out of the ordinary? I'm somewhat concerned with the warped rotors and front brakes every 35k, cat 1 bank being replaced, and the stealership doing two timing belt changes within 25k of each other.

I'm also looking at an 05 with 12k less miles for the same price. Any preference in the 05 or 07? Both have the sport package. Thanks!

Thanks. I was more concerned with the frequency of brake service, rpms dropping but unable to diagnose, and cat one bank failing. Though from my light research cat one could have also been a bad o2 sensor.
 
that sounds great! All the expensive stuff was done! I'd rather people over do the maintenance than none at all. Front brakes seem to have a lot of problems on these rigs for some reason. Mine were done several times by the prior owners.

Thanks for your insight. Have any gx owners moved to 5th gen 4runner calipers? This seems to be popular with the 4th gen crowd as its slightly bigger.
 
All of those services were done per the owners request, the dealer did sell the work... idk why two timing belts were done on it, but whatever it's their money. Brakes are notorious for being troublesome on these, the calipers stick, its best to replace calipers and rotors along with the pads when this happens. The cat was an unnecessary replacement, it only needed an o2 sensor. I wouldn't worry about any of that.
 
So if it only needed an 02 sensor but the cat was replaced, why didn't the check engine light come back on? Lol
 
They write it up as 'Customer Requests', but could certainly be that they are requesting it based on what the dealer is telling them it needs. Seems to have some odd electrical gremlins.

Abnormal humming during start up - we call that a clutch fan :) Perfectly normal - but also tells me this is an owner with very little knowledge about the vehicle, so they wouldn't be smart enough to request all of those other services without being persuaded to.

Warped brakes, also normal.

Replacing a cat at 75k? Definitely NOT normal, and also leads to believe the owner continued putting crap gas in the car since day 1. Those are the things that would make me hesitate to buy this one.
 
Thanks everyone for their insight. Any preference between this and an 05 sport w/ kdss for the same price? It has 13k miles less. From what I can tell all the refinements between 05 and 07 have been cosmetic.
 
I would closely inspect the frame also, and find out where each came from. I'd take a 150k vehicle from North Carolina every day over a 75k vehicle from New England. Many vehicles for sale down south have been bought in auctions where the cars came from the north.

Will do. Both these vehicles are central texas natives.
 
How do you like the KDSS? Do you think it adds a worthwhile premium to pricing? How high are you lifted with the KDSS?

I love KDSS. Once you get past the annoyance of getting sliders that will work, it's a great option. Rides like a sport car on the street, and plenty of added travel off road. Best of both worlds really. I'm lifted right at 3". I consider it a bonus though, and wouldn't necessarily pay a premium for it. When I found mine, it was obvious they had no idea what it had, since it was priced lower than most others I found that didn't have KDSS.
 
Replaced cat could have something to do with the sulphur smell in the exhaust. I assume the gx had this problem like the T4R. 80k was the emissions warranty limit. Or stolen cat?
