First camping trip in the books. Thanks @wngrog. Sealed the deal on wanting fender flares and mudflaps back on there. In my imagination, someone has a full set in their attic, has forgotten about them and would love to see them used rather than hidden. I posted on the wanted section too. Haven't started chasing parts yards very hard yet because they want a bunch of money for these things. Do y'all have any suggestions on painting them if I buy used. I want them to match the body.

I got the spare underneath the rear bumper but once in place I discovered the need to move the spare up, then I found instructions on mud. Barrier is sold. Anybody local want a non-winch are?

If you can't find paint that matches for the fender flares I would suggest Plastidip black, and a mudder going by Summit Cruiser has the rubber gaskets
 
Rotors, pads and re-pack front wheel bearings yesterday. Burned the new pads/rotors in on Mill street yesterday. The abs works! I love driving this truck. Perfect balance between my 62 and my 100.

I've used their paint with great results.

You'll need a plasticizer, primer, base, and clear coat.

Lucky for you, I have extra plasticizer and clear. If you need help painting, holler.
 
The factory roof rack is gone, and the holes in the roof has some goop on them. I'll be looking to improve the seal on those soon.

Wish I was still at a company with a full machine shop; I;d make you a set of what I covered the roof rack holes on our with. Al plate w/CRES button head screws and a trim to fit rubber sheet gasket. A little match factory spray paint Durcolor or something like that from Autozone
 
I'm on the hunt for sliders, keep an eye out for deals for me please. Need to be step-style as they will function more as a place to stand for accessing roof rack.
 
Thanks @jrob for the hitch, it's all bolted up. Had to chase the threads for the forward bolts since they hadn't been used. I left the OEM tow hooks in place for now.

Also did the budget spare tire lift. Problem: with the hitch in place the 315 won't quite fit. Possible solution: let the air out of the tire to reduce the size. I have a Viair that I'll carry all the time from now on, I'd rather have that in the back of the truck than the 315. I got the spare under there with 1" clearance from the control arm and 1.5" from the exhaust (that's what it was before).

Is there any reason not to roll with the spare un-inflated? @wct49 @Bomar what y'all think?

Many people don't have air in their spares anyway........just not intentionally

@wngrog are you saying that once the tire is in place that I should put some air back in? I want to leave it somewhat collapsed so that the control arm (is it the drag link?) has lots of clearance. I ran the 315 underneath for the last month and the spare was rubbing a tiny bit against the control arm.
