First off. 14.7 mm? Why does that number seem so familiar but I can’t place it. What does it convert to? Or is it just the engineering department? I’m pondering having my fab guy laser cut me some plates out of stainless and am wondering if I’m gonna have to get a lathe involved or is there a something? Mind you, my cost on fab stuff is usually a 30 pack of the Rockies.

14 unlucky
7 lucky

In Japanese culture …. where 7 very commonly symbolized luck and the 14 symbolizes unlucky as the pronunciation sounds like death because 4 sounds the same as death when used together your telling somebody 10 deaths

So maybe your getting a yin yang effect with your 14-7 where it’s in balance … just like the air fuel ratio… perfect ratio for the truck to run :)

At this point, I’m thinking 9/16 stainless bolts with copper tubing sleeves turned down to fit… thoughts?

Might as well make them greaseable. I'm not sure they need to be sleeved. Are you putting stock springs on or lift springs on? It makes a difference.

Stock flat springs sprung over in the rear. Got rid of my 2 1/4” tall spring perches and replaced with 3/4” tall. I’m going to use poly bushings, and I got extra ES grease to load them up with.

It’s not quite throwing a hotdog down a hallway, but a little too loose for me…

Didn’t make much progress last weekend due to the 95+ degree heat, but the shackles are coming along. Question. Should I polish the stainless steel plates to 3000 grit and hit ‘em with the green compound on the buffer? I’m a budding knife maker, so I have everything to do it. Thoughts?

This seems like a lot of work to save $80. No greasable shackles are only about $20 each
