I'm finding out that the switches on the LED lights from CountyComm are turning on in the pocket. Usually makes a big dent in the brightness. Of course they are closed until the 24th as they move so I can't directly link to it.

Also a couple times I've had the large sized clips come undone in the pocket. I haven't had issues with the small and medium ones yet.

Van, You expected otherwise.... :D

Bogo, I have been carrying these CC LED's for a while now and have not experienced any issues with the buttons.

LOL! Practice rigor gentlemen! Because of this thread I am carrying more practical and efficient products. Side note to the CC LEDs the ones that I had were slide button IIRC? Has the designed changed?

They have a round slide switch that is built into the middle of the flat face of the unit. It is about 1/2" across.

Earlier today I had my first keyring loop break.

That was one of my concerns when I saw the little plastic loop to put on a key chain. Not sure this is a better set up but this is what I am using currently. The braided ring give some hopefully will allow the loop in the LED to last longer. Time will tell

Guys, great thread. I'ts important to remember not to carry to much at one time. Only carry on your person what you can carry comfortably and securely. IMHO there are 3 levels of this; 1. what you carry on your person daily, 2. A go pack in your vehicle, 3. Larger go pack at the house. There are lots of forums out there on this subject the key is to put them together and keep them up to date and know where they are at any one given time. If you have family members to consider they too should know where and how to use the items (no matter what the item is) you have packed or carry on your person. My EDC is:

1. Glock 26 with spare magazine
2. SOG Trident with Tanto blade
3. Pen - Generally a Smith and Wesson tactical pen that can double as a weapon.
4. Flash light- Generally a Surefire
5. Some cash
6. Cell phone
7. ID's
8. A good watch

Since everybody likes pics here are a few

How do you like the MTAC holster? I have been looking at getting an IWB holster for my G26 and this is one of the contenders.

The MTAC is awesome I debated on the MTAC and the Crossbreed for a while. What I like about it can hold my 26, 19, 17 and even my 34 in it all though the 34 stuck out the bottom just a bit but it worked. Very comfortable for daily carry even against bare skin. Adjustability is great and once you take it off and put on a few times it is easy to do. Definitely can recommend it.

Black Op-

How do you like the S&W tactical pen? Ease of use? Good ink delivery/flow? Does it have a ink cartridge that is easy to source? Where there any other tactical pens you considered, or that you would consider now?

Van,

Have not had to replace the ink cartridge yet. However it takes a standard refill sold most places see this link The Martialist: For Those Who Fight Unfairly I am pretty happy overall with the set up. What I like about it is: positive connecting cap, a solid pocket clip. I generally carry this in my right leg 5.11 cargo pocket. So far I'd give it a 8/9 out of 10. Price was not to bad a $40 (I've seen others go for over $100) I personally like a fine point pen however this medium point is not to bad. Flow is ok. It also has a small hole in the top of the cap for a lanyard attachment (nice option). HTH

This is some good information and similar to what I was considering

Schrade makes a 'tactical' pen now for around $20. Think it'll accept a rollerball Parker refill too.

These look great and in a price point that I could buy 2 one for me and one for mother's day :princess:), check out the one with hearts- fitting. ;)

Nice option. Almost exactly like the S&W. observation is the S&W has a more pointed end and lanyard hole but at that price very tempting......

Key Rack | Nite Ize
S-Biner KeyRing | Nite Ize

If you want a bunch of small s-clips for not much $$$. Nite Ize has key rings which come with 6 small colored plastic s-clips for $3.99 and key racks for $4.49 and $4.99. I ran across the key racks when I was at Bass Pro Shops. They had them in the boating section along with the key fob floats. I think I prefer the small stainless steel clips from CountyComm, but they are over 3X the price.

Other stuff they have:
Hardware | Nite Ize
They even have a couple s-clips that can also serve as bottle openers.

The small plastic Nite Ize s-clips have a little notch with a bit of a hook to it where the spring wire slots into the end of the hook. That hooked notch catches on your key ring as you try to remove it from the clip. On the stainless steel clips from CountyComm that area is smooth. That makes it much easier to remove the clip from a keyring.

Stream Lite Nano up date.

I used my Nano extensively last week. In my 82 year old mothers words "It is handy as a pocket on a shirt.":grinpimp: We did a cave tour in Great Basin Nat. Park, I used it every night to light my nocturnal missions, plus it served general duty for such things as peering into the engine compartment and sundry small desert holes, it shows no sign of dimming.

I use the NI rope and rope tightener and really like them a lot. I have them in several different sizes
