I was down turning on sprinklers tonight at my sons house. The valves are located at the bottom of a 2' pipe. I eeded a flashlight to guide the valve key onto the valve. I reached into my pocket for my nano and came out with half of it. The top had unscrewed and along with the batteries was floating around loose in my pocket.I used my Nano extensively last week. In my 82 year old mothers words "It is handy as a pocket on a shirt."We did a cave tour in Great Basin Nat. Park, I used it every night to light my nocturnal missions, plus it served general duty for such things as peering into the engine compartment and sundry small desert holes, it shows no sign of dimming.
Van looks like a good site. Ill have to check it out in detail when I have time
I always take every thing I read with a grain of salt. I like things that are simple and practical
Tape was my first thought, but I don't want to deal with unwrapping it to use the light. I'm finding that since I have it handy I use it a lot. I also don't want to have all that gunk on the outside. Some kind of tubing I could roll back would be perfect. Good call on the alternate use, you could probably use the tube to attach the light to a pen top to pear into tight places.I like the surgical tubing idea to help secure the threaded connection/cap, could a small section have a dual purpose life.... any ideas? How about this the small section of tubing could be used a light stand if slid down to the end or secure other smaller needed items to the flashlight?!?! What about a few wraps of duct tape?

Tape gunk did come to mind upon posting, and I get that concern. The surgical tubing attachment idea is cool and would be welcomed in any MacGyver scenario... I was even thinking of the friction the tubing offers could supply a "stop" feature to keep it from sliding, or take it farther and add practically anything under the tubing to prevent from rolling/sliding off a surface...
I wear wire frame glasses, the tubing could slide over one of the bows and hold the flash light. The thing is Uber light weight so it wouldn't cause the glasses to slip or anything. All I need to do is find some tubing now.

I got it back together and finished the job but now I'm going to have to find a way to prevent a repeat of this incident. Maybe a short section of surgical tubing?
Heat shrink would probably add just enough resistance to keep accidents from happening, I may do that as an interim measure.I had the same issue and the batteries would drain when accidently turned on. I like the tube idea though. Could also use heat shrink.
It's been posted before. I'd really like one if it used regular trapezoid box cutter blades. Otherwise I'm afraid I'd be dulling one every couple weeks.
