It's been posted before. I'd really like one if it used regular trapezoid box cutter blades. Otherwise I'm afraid I'd be dulling one every couple weeks.
I did a search and didn't find it.:meh:

I kind of doubt it would be something I would use as a day to day knife, to much work to get it open. But it would make a nice addition to a 10 essentials kit since it's so compact. A square of 400 sandpaper packed along with it would keep the blade reasonably sharp.

ITS Tactical — Imminent Threat Solutions has some good info, although its still fairly new. Buddy and I braided a fast rope today.
Sayoc Global, LLC. — Sayoc Global, LLC is primarily a FMA system, but has some good info on other topics in the forum.
pathfinder school
But most of my info is hands on or through friends/family that get paid to do the fun stuff.

Its hard to find reliable info on the interwebs when everyone is a tacticool chuck Norris.

The Firefox book series has some really good old world info. Us army survival handbook. Special forces emergency medic handbook.
Ranger rick series.
Ill go through my library later and add some more titles that cover topics such as vector navigation without a map.

I love the Foxfire books, great reading even if you never use any of the information.

I had gotten the first book years ago, then my girlfriend got me a whole 1st edition set on eBay. Its an awesome set with a lot of forgotten knowledge.

Yeah wading through the TC pool of bs can be not fun. But it is great to get different ideas and then try them yourself

Dan,

If you get a chance how about a posted picture of the final design? Sound like it may be winning idea. Shot in the dark here and I am assuming it's not, but any chance that the said tubing may be flammable? Just thinking outside the box and without the tubing in the garage for pyro, er, I mean testing purposes I have to ask. I did try a google search to no solid evidence.
I haven't been ignoring this, I just haven't had time to search out the right tubing. HD carries one size of latex tubing and it's to small for this application. One day I'll have some spare time during lunch hour to go search out the correct size.

I know you are good for it....

How to Be a Gentleman

I have been thinking about this topic of daily carry a lot lately, and apologize for not posting more frequently, but my thoughts have centered around the basic knowledge required to feel confident in most daily situations that one may find themselves. I recognize most of you guys are bringing military and LE training to this discussion and agree that commonsense, and situation awareness are paramount to avoiding most questionable situations or surviving others, but realize that I am lacking in some basic, er, um- social graces. I recognize that please, thank you, yes sir, no sir, yes ma'am, no ma'am have their respected places, but I needed more training to successfully navigate other more less frequent or potentially awkward scenarios. So the search began, to find a basic guide to help train myself in these areas that I had questions, and as with any quest where self improvement is desired I eventually stumbled upon a good resource that I feel would help on this level daily carry knowledge. Below is a brief description of the book provided by the publisher about how to apply that knowledge.

How to Be a Gentleman: A Timely Guide to Timeless Manners is the revised and updated edition of the smash-hit How to Be a Gentleman and offers practical advice on being a gentleman in the twenty-first century.Should you take your BlackBerry on vacation? What is the best way to accept a compliment? Is an e-mail an acceptable means of writing a Thank-You note? While the tenets of gracious behavior never change, the situations a gentleman faces do and have changed significantly in the last ten years. In this revised, updated, and expanded version of the bestselling How to Be a Gentleman, Bridges addresses new issues such as airport security, Bluetooth and BlackBerry usage, and appropriate internet and instant message communication. Still featured are topics ranging from how to receive a compliment to how to act at funerals. Certain to be the must-have guide for the modern gentleman, this revised edition will echo the success of its predecessor.
