Appreciate the feedback and the kind words! It's always tough creating instructions and making sure they're simple enough to follow while not leaving out any important details.

Glad to hear you're happy with the setup. Please post up some pictures when you get a chance, and definitely report back with your blow-by findings 👀

Please excuse the dirty engine bay… lots of KY water crossings… lol.

I’ll post up more pics when my wife’s driven it a few weeks to see how much, if any oil is captured.

Great work, brother.

I happy with my catch can but I don’t understand why you use gas pipe fittings that are commonly used in household applications ?
IMO they just don’t look right and why I change mine out for some nice automotive fittings.
After all it’s a 1FZ not a wall furnace 😉

Can you provide a link to order the fittings. I'd like to do the same with mine. Hopefully in a black anodized.

Looking good! Thanks for sharing, and we’re looking forward to hearing more about your results.

We really appreciate the discussion and feedback. That said, this thread is intended specifically for the supercharged kit. For future replies, let’s move the discussion over to the other thread (EPIC Cruisers - Oil Catch Can Kit) so it stays organized and more people can benefit from it there. We’ll see if we can get these posts moved over as well. (Moved to the correct thread👍)

We're glad you’re happy with the catch can! And that's a great question...

We avoid aluminum fittings because aluminum on aluminum can cause "galling", especially when tightening and clocking them to the correct orientation. That can quickly seize or damage a port. We use brass because it’s durable, readily available, seals very well since it’s softer than aluminum, and is much less likely to gall.

It’s also worth noting that the TRD Supercharger and several other catch can systems have used brass fittings for years. For us, function and durability come first, but we understand wanting a certain look in your engine bay!

Thanks, man. Sorry to clutter up the wrong thread.

You are a-okay no worries at all, just wanted to make sure the right crowd heard your feedback. Woody was able to move them over so all is good!
Sounds good to me!

Looks great! One small tip: it looks like the bottom of the bracket is sitting on top of the lower loop clamp. It should actually sit behind the clamp, so the catch can bracket is sandwiched between the engine lifting bracket and the loop clamp.

You asked a great question and one we get pretty often. Unfortunately, there is no one-size-fits-all answer.

As for the "what": If you do a mix of highway and in-town driving, you’ll collect oil. If your driving is mainly short, in-town trips, you might see a bit of “milkshake” in the can. That’s just oil mixed with condensation from the crankcase. It happens more when the engine doesn't fully warm up and run long enough to evaporate built-up moisture, which is more common with short trips.

As for the "how much": That varies widely based on engine condition, outside temps, trip length, and so on. On our personal 80, we usually go 4000 to 5000 miles before needing to empty it out, and it's not even full at that point. We recommend checking it every 2 or 3 fuel stops at first, until you get a sense of what’s normal for your rig. You may also notice that on longer drives (2 hours or more), the catch can fills faster because of the consistent/sustained flow through the PCV system. The nice thing about this catch can is the clear sight glass; it only takes a few seconds to get a visual check on the level.

Hope this is helpful!
Just wanted to say thank you for the info. in your third paragraph. My wife's just been driving the 80 locally. Today, I decided to check the catch can and a saw a little milkshake at the bottom of the can (less than 1/8")... nearly s*** my pants... pulled the main oil cap... all good. Thank heavens.

Doing the job just as it should.
