Just wanted to say thank you for the info. in your third paragraph. My wife's just been driving the 80 locally. Today, I decided to check the catch can and a saw a little milkshake at the bottom of the can (less than 1/8")... nearly s*** my pants... pulled the main oil cap... all good. Thank heavens.

Doing the job just as it should.
Mine looks like dirty black oil.
No milkshake 🤷‍♂️

Glad we could help put your mind at ease! Haha. We've been there before so we understand the feeling.

This is very common on a variety of vehicles, especially with short trips or big outdoor temperature swings (like we've been experiencing in the Southeast). Nice work staying on top of it, always good to keep an eye on it.

I’ve got my “balls” drilled out on the charcoal canister. That plus not many miles driven and giant swing in temps led to an accumulation of moisture. I think that’s the answer to the “milkshake”.

Ruh oh......

Any reason I'd be getting mayo in the catch can ?

Dipstick and oil fill cap look clean....

Yup, completely normal. No reason to worry like the guys above stated. If you're driving mainly short trips, you might see a bit of “milkshake” in the can. That’s just oil mixed with condensation from the crankcase. It happens more when the engine doesn't fully warm up and run long enough to evaporate built up moisture. Good job keeping an eye on it, definitely want to drain it more often if you do a lot of short trips!
