I need a 96 LX 450!

Did the TJ front coil spring mod to the grey Runner this afternoon. You basically cut a coil down, compress it and slip it over the bumpstops. Gives back some of the factoru lift and acts as an overload if you load it down or pull a trailer. I had the same mod on one that I had a few years ago and it worked great.

Before and after shots. Originally I cut the springs down to 14 inches and installed them. Gave me exactly 3 inches of lift. Took them back out and cut them down to 12 3/4 inches and reinstalled them. Gave me 2 2/2 ~2 3/4 inches of lift. One thing that I did differently than what some of the others who have done this mod is to tack weld the top of the spring to the top bumpstop to keep it from making too much noise. It does sit a little higher than I like in the rear but it might settle and if it doesn't I can always add a one inch ball joint spacer.
