My first thought is something is in the heat shield on the crossover and is burning off. Does it burn or leak any oil?

1989 4Runner 3.0 V6, first start in 3.5 months…thoughts on what’s going on here?

Valve cover gaskets. Oil is leaking on the exhaust manifold and cross-over pipe. You can try to snug down the 10mm bolts on the valve cover and see if that takes care of it or slows it down. If not replace the valve cover gaskets.
