I recently bought a 1983 Toyota Sr5 short bed 4x4. im not sure what i want to do with it just yet. i need to find patches for the rear wheel wells they are pretty rusty. and i have an exhaust leak out of the manifold. does anyone know where i can find some parts for this old tonka truck? i was also considering an engine swap but im not sure what wil fit in the engine bay. dont get me wrong i love the 22r but its lacking a little in horsepower. any known conversion kits?

4.3 V6 is a common swap as well as a small block Chevy believe it or not.
 
What are head gasket leak symptoms again for review? Is that a common 22re problem?

Ther can vary depending on where and how bad. Things like oil in the water or water in the oil, water loss from the cooling system, sweet smelling smoke from the exhaust, low power, dead miss, etc. if you suspect you may have a head gasket problem I suggest you stop driving it and do a compression check ASAP. And, no, 22r /22re engines are not common head gasket problems unless the cooling system fails and they are driven hot.

4runner geeks, I got a question. My PS door, the one with two handles, has the regular (front seated

passenger) handle which works but only if you pop the handle open. I partially removed door panel and

when I put pressure on wire that goes from said door handle to door latch it opens correctly. Is there a

screw or way to tighten that wire or arm that runs from handle to latch. This thing still has the plastic on

door interior and I do not want to tear into it if I can not make an adjustment. Thanks.

Any on have on sitting on a used manifold they want to sell for a reasonable price?
 
Plans so far are to stay stock and putt around in it. Unless I through the Marlin 4.7 case and the e lock diffs that I've hoarded up in it....
