Is there any way you could lay out the steps you use to restore a steering wheel and what products you use? I only ask because it seems your process has changed as you've gone along.

-soak in degreaser 12-24 hours , use the degreaser and sand w/ 600
-make marks on ALL cracks no matter how small
-open all cracks (to the metal) in a V shape
-fill all crack w/ PC-7 (wet/moist)
-let set for a minimum of 24 hrs
-start sanding the epoxy w/ around 320gr go lighter when you start to shape the steering wheel.
- use black primer, it will show any missed cracks and go over entire surface w/ magnifying glass
- I use black SEM body black at least 3 coats
-matrix MS-52 clear coat (several coats)
And polish

I am getting ready to have my guy restore some of the early TOYOTA steering wheel pieces. If you have one that is crazed scratched whatever, as long as it is one piece it can look brand new. If you’re interested contact me asap. It will be yours, original and look factory new.
