Trying to price your rig so soon?...

I think there will always be people willing to pay whatever they can to feel good. Both buyer and seller should be really happy. Buyer could have been driving some crappy new suv for that price.

I just bought a 400 dollar trailer from a guy driving a g-wagon. Said he traded off his 45 to get it. Those things can run 100,000 easy and still leave you wanting a 55.

If I could ever spend that kind of money on a vehicle, that 55 would be top choice.

Sold for $47k and his reserve was in the teens......that's one happy seller!! Buyer's sure to be a happy camper, too.....that's a very nice 55.

Me? sell something. I don't sell nothing! no, but my kids will have a field day, when I go.

I agree with you, that's why I'm building mine, just the way I want it. personally, for a high dollar one, I would want to know every detail of how it was built and would be more concerned with rust inside the hidden areas.

I think this one was built right, by professionals. Hope the new owner is a member, I would like to see how it holds up to rust. I know he has a big 'ol smile on his face tonight!

That price was more due to the name on the restoration, not the vehicle.

If you or I did that same quality of restoration in our garage, the selling price wouldn’t be half that…unless your name is Jonathan Ward.

FACTS

Hey all I was a bidder on that rig pretty high up there ...

Got a second chance email from the seller - he was over seas on business etc.

He was legit but the gent who won the final bid didnt take the pig at the end..

I respectfully declined the buy @ 46-47 and am almost certain the seller still hasn't sold er.

Its nice to know there are buyers out there for hi priced pigs. But the aforementioned sale has not gone through so not sure we can count it yet.

I was told a TLC resto runs 60-150 K anyone ever hear that before?

I think it's not uncommon in the high stakes auctions, that winners back out. Out bid thier wallets in the heat of the moment, then the spouse finds out,. Whatever the reason, somebody lost out on a very nice wagon.

Good luck to the seller on the next go round.

Great news!

change the password to your ebay account !

Pretty slick scam - the nigerians have moved from wanting to give me 5 million dollars to getting in between legit transactions.

Nothing is coming from my account - I'm sure they make it look like an eBay message but it is not coming from me or my eBay account. Check any link in whatever you were sent and it should be obvious it is outside of eBay.

Thanks all though on the sale and I'm sure I'll be in a 55 again, it will always be my favorite cruiser.

don't need to hear it, i've been to the shop and seen the prices. that is correct. but you have to figure you're getting a rig in better shape then when toyota built it and you're getting it from a shop. think about how long it takes you to rebuild something...now figure those hours time $80-120/hr (going shop rates). throw in cost of parts....we all know it's in the thousands just for pig weatherstrip. that's why you pay out the arse when you buy from a shop.
