4. Locate the three plastic "rivets" on the door panel. They will be lower on the panel, with one rivet in the leading end, and two in the trailing end of the door panel. Push the center of the rivet in slightly with the edge of a screwdriver or other object (this will release the "catch" on the rivet), then, being careful not to nick/scratch your door panel), pry the rivet out with a flat tool.
5. While we're on these rivets, the way to reinstall them is to push on the pointed end of the rivet to make the blunt end stick out of the body of the rivet. Then, when you reinstall the rivet into the door panel, you push the center in to make it flush with the body of the rivet to make it hold tight again.
6. Pull back on the door seal on the bottom of the door panel to reveal the 4 screws on the bottom. Remove these 4 screws

Anyone know the part number of these plastic rivets? Several of mine are broken.
Yeah, if you take the door panel off, there are fasteners on the back that hold it on. It's been a while, and I can't remember if they're screws or clips or what, but you'll see them. Not hard at all......Does anyone know how to remove the dark brown section? I need to get mine re-covered as the leather cracked where you hold to shut the door.

Did you ever go through with this and get pictures? I need to do the same processThank you! I'll take some pictures and post them here when I pull the door panel off.
Not needed. You'll see whichever ones they are when you get the panel off. Either way, you'll be able to get the handle off.Did you ever go through with this and get pictures? I need to do the same process
Yep just pulled it off my other truck today. 12 screws hold it on, and a few metal tabs hold the leather piece behind it.Not needed. You'll see whichever ones they are when you get the panel off. Either way, you'll be able to get the handle off.
Yes, I am not sure silicone prays like Sil-Glyde are useful for window runs.I have cleaned the runs a few times with dry silicone spray and it helps for a few months. Yesterday I changed out the window Channel run (Toyota part 68151-60032 ~$70). I followed the these instructions and then the information about the window channels. It was really easy once I was able to find the the access hole for the front window retaining bolt. I had a helper so we didn't damage the glass. once it was time to remove it. Just went slow so the new run was in there good and secure, no special tools needed other than patience - small hands helped. Just followed the instructions in reverse to put it all back together. Window is about 25% faster in operating and very smooth. No more slowing down in the middle of the upper movement or speeding up near the bottom in downward operation!
Thank you all for the instructions and guidance here. Couldn't have done it without these specific instructions!
