Door Bows for Hard Top and Gasket kit

Hello,

We would like to install the hard top onto our 1974 FJ40. We don't have the door bows inner or outer. Will any year work ? In not what years were changes made or what should i watch for?

Also need some new seals for the hard top ... anyone use these Hard Top Seal Kit w/Screws
Any recomendations would be appreciated !

I'm running an 81 hardtop & seals on my 74. The thread in my sig line has pics of the differences of the header bar over the windshield.

Not sure what you mean by hardtop door bows.

Cool cruisers of Taiwan rubber parts are junk.
Most are still available from the dealerships.

Stick with OEM toyota seals. I regrettably went with CCOT to save a few bucks. Ahh...If only I knew then what I know now.

I saw some front door headers in classifeds not too long ago.

does anyone know if the pieses that go above the doors are the same for all years ? If not whats different or what to watch for ?

Should okay with anything from mid 65 (end of corrugated top) on. 79 or 80 the front edge changed a little to seal against the windshield better. Then a few years later two fixed nuts on the inside for a handle. The attachment points at windshield/cap/side panel stayed the same to my knowledge.

Try posting in the classified section for the door headers. I needed some for my driver side a few months back and a few people responded with very fair prices.
