This is a huge benefit!

The other current market offerings require removal of the rear quarter plastic trim piece to get at and lift off the swing arms. Ben's bumper arms will remove easily, so that my wife (and perhaps yours too!) will happily drive the truck to Target and Whole Foods.

Definitely possible. I should have some more detailed pics this weekend.

You are correct. The swingouts are designed to be easily removed and reinstalled. Takes about 5min.

Awesome! It looks like I'm interested in more than just the front and the rear. More excited about the rear than anything! Thank you!

Lurking on this thead. Hopeful for the rear bumper. I think the removable swing arms are a lovely idea. Might I also gently suggest vertical orientation of the Hi-Lift jack rather than the angled style on the 100 series bumper?

I see that you have added small LEDs along with brake lights. Are those intended as supplemental reverse lights, back up lights, both? Do they put out generous light?

Very nice work - your stuff looks really great.

I hate to ask but any idea on rear availabilty? I ask because I’m about 30 days away from installing LRA 12.5g aux tank, because I didn’t want to lose the spare and didn’t like previous offerings. But I would use the spare carrier you’re producing, and then I could go with the big 24 or 40 tank! I’d like to be ready to hit the road by late spring, so that’s why I ask about timing on the rear. If it’s 90+ days out, it’ll be hard to put off that long without interfering with other summer plans.

@Chrisleduc1 you could use a hitch mount tire carrier to bridge for a few months - it isn't ideal, but they aren't super expensive and then you wouldn't have to worry about a tank swap to the larger tank. I'm sure the hitch mount would be less than labor for a tank swap.

Yeah, I'd second this. I used the Wilco Solo for a while and it's a solid product that holds up well offroad. You can usually find them roughly half-price used as well.

I need the hitch for something else, unfortunately. Even my roof rack will be out of space. I could rig something up, but its definitely ideal, and I guess the viability all depends upon the length of time..

Not sure what else you're using the hitch for, but the Wilco products tend to have a second hitch built in if you're towing something on the smaller side (not sure what the rating is) or have a bike rack or something.

Unfortunately the vertical high lift would set a little to high and may prevent some from getting in their garage.
These lights are auxiliary backup/tail/stop/turn however this is not the production light set up. I have some pretty cool ideas for the rear lighting but that's all I can say for now.

Its tough to say as of now.
Likely at least 12 weeks unfortunately.

Roof rack is done! Still needs powder.
This sets at the same height as the factory rack.

I am liking that rack more and more. Powder coat it silver and iot would be perfect on my 2013 silver LC.

Great work, @benc !

Or here's a thought - powder coat it white as a tip of the hat to the classic white roofs on old Cruisers

Or just paint the top of your cruiser white.
If you go with bus-more thermal insulation paint you can reduce the temps inside the cabin by 17 degrees. If you are un a place with extreme solar loading, like Arizona.

So... your answer to what color to powdercoat a roof rack is to NOT BUY A ROOF RACK?

Could the spare be slid far enough over to the side that the rear camera in the center is not impeded?
Yes, and really even with the tire where it's at it's not bad at all.

Looks good. What do you do about the license plate? From the looks of this pic, one could get pulled over in some states for obscuring it.
Plate will be relocated to the swim arm under the tire along with a light.

Thanks for all the interest!
I will keep the threads updated with the official release. I will be doing multiple installations before shipping any so if you are interested in getting in on a installed bumper pm me.
Thanks.

My email is my screen name at g male. I might be interested in sending my LX down from OR.. Send me an email once you start having an idea on timing and I might be able to have it dropped off.
