I would like to hear from anyone running a Truetrac in their front diff how it affects the steering. My assumption is that with the hubs locked, in 2H there is no affect at all and that in 4H or 4L the effect is minimal.

Can anyone confirm from personal experience?

Thanks!

Thats right, when theres traction you don`t notice it. But when its slippery it will under steer.

It worked well on my truck when it had ifs... I ran the true track up front and aussielocker rear.

Very happy with it...

If there is more you need to know, just ask:cheers:

I disagree. With the hubs turned there is noticeable under-steer on my truck. I can tell if I forgot to unlock my hubs after switching into 2WD.

Thanks Pappy. Would you say, however, that if you want to be able to steer and still have some extra traction in the front end that the truetrac would be the way to go? I plan on putting a TRD eLocker in the rear. I won't be climbing rocks, just very slippery hills.

Btw, my DOA 22RE is doing quite well. Quite an upgrade from my stock engine.

The TrueTrac is not a locker, you know that. Yes, it helps and was worth the investment. It's a good compromise in a truck that will not see difficult trails. I've been on difficult trails and it has served me well, though a few times I wish it was a locker.

I have about 80K on my DOA ... no issues, strong engine.
