1. We have not set out to make the cheapest product out there, our goal is to make what we feel is the best product out there.
2. Glad to hear, I'm sure their quality is comparable to ours.
3. Then don't. Without having a finalized price and without having hands on with the competition's product, it's going to be pretty worthless conjecture to tell you why our anything is $x.xx more than their anything.

No offense, but unless some of the 100 series owners cross into the 80 series forums often, few will know anything about your bumpers, and this kind of response doesn't help.

That being said, although I'm a loyal fan of Ben and his Dissent armor for the 100, what you've done for the 80 series is amazing, and if you can approach that with the 100 series, I can see why you'd price it the way you plan to. Although it lacks the weld-porn that you see on some of the aforementioned offerings, the design is very good looking, tight-fitting and works well with the body lines of the 80. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with and glad to see even more options for the 100.

For those that haven't seen it on the 80:

Hey, I'm just asking about the why. Why do you guys feel your product is the best?

Honestly, that's a totally different question than "why is yours better than "x's" something?". Our goal is to make the best stuff out there, we have never made any claims that it is. We strive to produce a product that is strong, looks great, is incredibly easy to install, easily adaptable to different configurations and options, ships today, and in general, accomplishes the task that product should.

Visited your site and I like your back story. Very cool!

F(Z)J80 Delta Front Bumper

Do you have any more pics, close ups, detailed? Interior? Got a weight estimate?

I like the bumper...it’s certainly different from what’s currently offered. Looking forward to see the finished product.

It’s got a lot going on with all those angles and I wonder if that’s reflected in the price?

I’m looking for a bumper in the next few months but this one is out of my price range. Certainly a interesting concept!

There are a lot of pics on our instagram (DELTA Vehicle Systems (@deltavehiclesystems) • Instagram photos and videos don't have to be signed up to look at the pics), have a look there and report back if you have any specific areas you'd like some close ups of.

Looks good! I checked out your guys's site and saw the 80 series center console upgrades as well as the ceiling storage rack. Any plans to make those for the 100?

Thanks! Those are absolutely on the agenda!

1a. good point, forget about that all the time
1b. not sure I'm following what you're referring to here, @Somebodyelse5 seems to have taken a liking to us and just likes to poke. All in good fun here.
2. thanks!
3. Weld-porn, eh? Haven't seen much of that on here, certainly not on any bumpers (absolutely have not seen them all, and not saying it doesn't exist by any means, just haven't seen it yet), and our goal is to hide the welds as much as possible, or simply avoid them with as many bends as possible, as welds are expensive to make look good. If you'd like some weld porn, check out @gsrfab on instagram (GsRFAB (@gsrfab) • Instagram photos and videos) for some of our previous work.

Yes, I do think the aesthetic of your bumper is different. It has a very professional, "stamped-steel" look (kind of like AEV JK bumpers) and, what I think would be your main competition in the 100 market (@benc ) has a more "industrial" aesthetic and the welds are functional jewelry:

I guess I am just trying to cut through the generic engineering filler jargon and get the meat and potatoes. No one ever designs something to be the worst, most difficult to install, and to not accomplish that task it should. Otherwise, we'd have folks selling bumpers made of wood and held together with nails, installed entirely with riv nuts and bailing wire, and priced a $5k.

It's the tech section, to discuss tech

@Delta VS : Welcome! I'll support our 100s getting some aftermarket love any day of the week, looks like you make some nice stuff. If you're looking for ideas for 100 series specific products, I've got some ideas.

Thanks much! You have a pm.

Great looking bumper with all the bends. Will the bull bar work in the LX? Sometimes a clearance issue as the grill on the LX is attached to the hood.
Finally the LX has the turn signals in the bumper, but it looks like this might come with marker lights in the bumper that could be used for turn signals?

Are there clearance/structural/materials/weight advantages over the competition (primarily slee, 4x4labs, dissent)?

If you're going to charge hundreds more than the competition it may help to justify the cost by stating some pros other than "our goal is to make the best stuff". If it's strictly aesthetic that's fine, it is a phenomenal looking design, and that may be enough to justify the cost for some.

This first one is for an LX470, so all is being designed around that. We include LED turn signals with our 80 series bumpers since mounting that one requires the removal of the valence (which holds the OEM turn signals).

1. Well, not having hands on with other brands (want to send one of each to our shop?), it is very difficult to claim advantages. We also feel it's very bad business to say anything along the lines of "ours is better because..." as that is simply an indirect way of saying "their product SUCKS because...". The community around Land Cruisers is a very small, tight knit group (including the vendors) and we are here to support and be part of that group in any way we can, for the long haul. I (Dave, maybe I should've posted a link to the intro thread Delta Vehicle Systems introduction I posted way back when in the 80 section along with this thread) have a couple 80s, Patrick (co-owner) has a 4Runner, Adam (employee) has an 80, and we use them.

2. Before you guys get completely fixated on cost, will you let us at least get a real one mounted to a vehicle? Also, keep in mind that our 80 Series bumper arrives ready to bolt on and includes literally everything you need, including a custom tool. The price of that bumper includes nice lights, powder coating, mounting hardware, etc...

I think this may have been the info missing in the first post that led to a little sticker shock for some. Most don't consider that the $15-1600 base price of some other products don't include the powder coating, or the lighting, or this or that. That stuff does add up and when you're (sometimes incorrectly) mentally budgeting for a base price and then surprised when you get to the check out page. Plus, it seems like 100 owners are cheap until everyone else also has the same product they want..

I LOVE the design and since I have a 100, I don't venture into the 80-series section to be familiar with your stuff. I'd be very interested in seeing a completed unit on a 100.

Ya, makes sense. After taking a look at the ordering process for some of the other 100 series specific bumpers, I see where some of the price discrepancies could be found.

Thanks!

Does your suggested base price (1950) include front led lights or just the internal mounting tabs?

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT IS THE PRICE FOR THE 80 SERIES BUMPER, not sure that was made clear enough in this thread. Simply using that as a price point/comparison. And stating again that the 100 Series bumper will most likely be easier to fabricate, so it's quite possible will be less than our 80 Series bumper. No guarantees at this point, too early in the development process.

Keeping that in mind, THE 80 SERIES bumper includes the LED turn signals (black arrows below) and mounting plates (your choice of Baja Designs, Rigid, or blank/solid insert) for the "in-bumper", facing straight forward (but still adjustable for tuning exactly where the lights shine), LED locations (red arrows below). We do NOT include LED running/fog/spot/flood/rock lights, but can supply them. We supply you with the parts needed to simply order your preferred lights from wherever and bolt them to your new bumper.

The 100 SERIES
bumper will most likely follow the same path.

Looking forward to seeing this mounted. Are you sizing for a Warn M8000 as you do with the 80 series bumper?
I assume no cutting and it mounts using the existing bolt holes in the front end?
Thoughts on about how much it will weigh?

I took a few minutes to check out your website, I'm anxious to see how this turns out. Even better if you all offer some similar products that you've developed for the 80's series and consider something similar for the 100's.

1. Thanks, we are too!
2. Turns out that was not really an accurate statement on my part. These bumpers should (can't say will because haven't confirmed) easily fit a Warn Zeon 12 with their "low profile" setup. The relay box that looks integral to the top of the winch can actually be replaced with a piece that doesn't include the relays, greatly reducing the profile. SO, all of our bumpers should fit a 12k winch no problem.
3. Correct, we might have some plates that you insert into the frame with weld nuts that line up with existing unthreaded holes for additional mounting points, but that hasn't been tested yet.
4. It will be in the 140-150 range.

Thanks! We are absolutely actively working on adapting our products to 100 and 200 series.
